If you want to know what Swedish country
sounds like, this is the album you should listen to.  Simon Andersson has his very own style, which
is not least due to his favorite bands like Whitesnake and ToTo. His songs
combine rock and pop with country tunes and his voice goes perfectly with the
songs. The melodies go straight to the ear and stay in the head. This is
particularly noticeable with “Hey More”, one of the faster songs that tells of
a relationship with a woman he just can’t get enough of. With the chorus, you
just can’t help but sing along. It’s similar with “Mia”, although this song
stands out because of its more feeling.

My favorites are “It’s a Long Way
There” and “Trouble On Your Mind”, both of which have a
completely different style and that is exactly what defines the album. A Brand
New Day is Andersson’s first release and immediately makes it clear that he has
his very own style that you can easily get on board with.
