NEW LEGACY
Simple Truth
Oh
What A Day – No Doubt Salvation – God Is Still In Control – Stand Still
– Never Too Old To Pray – So Much To Thank Him For – Thank You Lord For
Your Blessings On Me – It’s Enough – It Is Well – When We All Get To
Heaven
What a
wonderful experience it is to watch the sun slowly rise in the east,
after a restless night, to listen to a gospel group that expresses truth
in their music, truth in their writing, truth in their presentation.
This Illinois group is bluegrass based, but they take that
instrumentation to a new level with their new gospel music. They make
no mistake about it, “The battle is not over, but the end has already
been established, Christ is still on the throne.” I think perhaps this
group has written all of the songs on this album, though it doesn’t
specify that. This wonderful presentation is produced by Nathan Gates.
He also plays the banjo and guitar and sings; Rachel Gates is the bass
and vocalist; Ryan Eaves is on drums; Sara Eaves is on fiddle and
vocals; and Craig Gates is on guitar and vocals. This is a super well
done softer side of bluegrass-gospel. I really like the ‘soft’ approach
they are using on not only the instrumentation, but in the mix which is
so important to the listener. They call it ‘simple truth’ which it is
of course, but it is so much more, it is the very survival of Christian
belief that is on the scale. I hear in this fine group’s message, one
of my own. “Church people go to church…God’s people are the church.”
New legacy is ‘God’s people’ no doubt about that. The sincerity they
add to this project makes it that perfect message to welcome another day
with Jesus Christ standing by our sides. The lead vocals change
throughout, making it an even more interesting ‘message’ to those of us
listening to a ‘new’ way to understand who we are, and what we should be
doing to be able to stand with Jesus. The production is well done too,
for instance “Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me” uses only an
acoustic guitar that propels the ‘message’ forward gently, softly,
inspiringly. Throughout this ‘truth message’ we get to hear the lovely
dedication an artist can apply to their beliefs, their talent, their
inspiration. Can we be in the ‘end times.’ Whether we are or not, New
Legacy is prepared. So am I, and can hardly wait for that day to
arrive. Off this lovely album goes to the Rural Roots Music
Commission. Good luck New Legacy, you are certainly deserving.
