So Far So Good
If You Could Call it That
To Make a Dream Come True
Teach Me Tonight
Can I Sleep In Your Arms
All Through Crying Over You
When Two Worlds Collide
Not A Dry Eye in the House
Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You
That’s How I Roll
Don’t Touch Me
Dance Tonight
Peaceful Waters

Jeannie Seely’s 2020 offering produced by Don Cusic is a follow up to 2017’s Written in
Song. An album of all original compositions that was well received but critics and fans
alike.

This album called An American Classic features collaborations with many stars and two
rerecordings of Seely’s biggest hits “Don’t Touch Me” and “Can I Sleep In Your Arms”
There is not really a bad track on this disc but of particular note is the Paul McCartney
penned Dance Tonight and songs she sings with Ray Stevens. It is just a fun song but it
reminds you that Ray Stevens is still a good singer and not just a great comic. It is also
a preservation for posterity of two classic artists singing together.
Even the well worn “Old Flames” sounds fresh with Seely being joined by Waylon
Payne.

A surprise track on this set is the Tim Atwood, Brent Ronen penned “That’s How I Roll”.
Seely shows her ability to cut loose on some Rockabilly and she gets some great vocal
support from Lorrie Morgan and Vince Gill as well. If Nashville truly cared anything at all
about their history or their legends this song would have put Seely back in the Billboard
Country Charts.

From the start of So Far So Good a swinging number kicking off the album with some
help from the Whites until the last strains of the beautiful Peaceful Waters penned by
Don Cusic, Seely shows why she is beloved by fans and fellow artists alike.

A true American Classic
