CD Review: Brittany Waldrep – Rock the Block – by Preshias Harris for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

“You’ll know my name when I hit the
stage” sings Brittany Waldrep on “Rock the Block,” and it’s
just one of the lines that audiences will be singing along with
whenever this exciting emerging artist hits the stage from honky
tonks to arenas. True to its title, “Rock the Block” is a
rock-solid party song from an artist that does not conform to the
traditional image of a Country artist. Brittany wears denim, leather
and chains and is a truly unique singer/songwriter. Her influences
range from traditional Country singers like Johnny Cash and Aaron
Tippin to current artists such as John Rich and Jamey Johnson, as
well as rockers Joan Jett and Pat Benatar. All of these influences
merge into the driving Country gumbo at the heart of “Rock the
Block” that she co-wrote with her friend Tim McDonald.
