The demons in the heart & soul of Keith Whitley took him away from us way too soon, but before he left this life he provided a plethora of great country music recordings for us to enjoy, ten of them included on Keith Whitley Super Hits, released in 1996 and now available at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00138D2RQ/180-5116703-4620206?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

The first song to bring Keith Whitley into worldwide notice is the first song on this cd, “Miami My Amy”, followed by “Ten Feet Away” where you can’t go wrong with songwriters Troy Seals, Billy Sherrill and Max D. Barnes. “I’m No Stranger To The Rain” will pleasantly remind the less devoted how great Keith Whitley really was, and “It Ain’t Nothin’” proves Keith Whitley could swing beat as well as croon. “When You Say Nothing At All” was provided by songwriters Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz, the same pair who gave Randy Travis his first mega hit, “Forever and Ever Amen”. “When You Say Nothing At All” is so great Alison Krauss recorded a smokin’ hot version of this song, but no singer could ever outlonesome Keith Whitley. “Don’t Close Your Eyes” was a big hit for Whitley, written by the same man who wrote many Don Williams hit songs, Bob McDill. “Hard Livin’” is the 10th and last song on this cd, giving us a foot-tapping look at a little piece of the sadness engulfing a lot of us when we heard of the passing of Keith Whitley.

Listening to Keith Whitley Super Hits will remind you of earlier great country singers like Bill Anderson and Vern Gosdin and give you a partial vision of how singers like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Lee Brice developed their styles. Keith Whitley Super Hits belongs permanently in your cd collection. Periodically
your musical heart will yearn for the audio greatness preserved on this cd.
