Brylie Renee is Thankful for her new release
By Alan Shipston for Country Music News International Magazine
Singing beyond her years, Brylie Renee shows maturity and quiet confidence with her new country ballad, Thankful. Her distinctive Texas accent is on display when she sings about ideas and life details that she is grateful for. Someone once said, “Thankfulness could well be the finest sentiment of man and also the rarest.” It’s quite uncommon for singers today to take the time to show gratitude when there are so many other avenues to explore. And so, into the brave new world, Renee enters.
As a lone acoustic guitar plays through the first verse, Brylie begins the heart felt song lamenting on why she’s just a normal girl,
“I was born in a small town, just your regular girl
Never lived the life of luxury
Never had the finer things in life
Fancy cars and diamond rings”
As steel guitar rings out at the channel, Brylie eases into the chorus,
“Mom always had food on the table
And Daddy came home from work every night
So, I’m thankful, so grateful
For this life that I’ve lived with my family and friends”
Brylie Renee is a 14-year-old singer/songwriter from Conroe, Texas who comes from a strong musical family. Her love for music was sparked early on, singing and playing instruments alongside her dad, a gifted vocalist and worship leader. In addition, her grandparents sing at church and her sister keeps the rhythm on the drums. She offered this perspective, “We don’t slow down enough to truly be thankful for all the blessings in our lives. The little things. The things that matter most.” Inspired by country stars like Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney, Brylie’s songs carry a warm, down-home feel that resonates with fans of classic and modern country alike.
Written by Brylie Heuermann and Jacob Heuermann, the song has all the signposts of a good solid country production. In a world where so much seems disposable, Brylie Renee brings an honest and true message of what it means to be Thankful.
