Brit Taylor Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show
Lamitschka:Â How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?
Answer:Â Last
year was FULL of anticipation and planning! I had music ready to go and
I wanted so badly release it right away but I knew to right thing to do
was to be patient and wait for the right time! and now is that time.
Lamitschka:Â Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?
Answer:Â Mostly
I co-write my songs! I love co-writing. I love collaborating with hit
songwriters. I love watching their brains work and learning from the
very best.
Lamitschka:Â How much creative control do you have over your music?
Answer:
For the first time since moving to Nashville I am an independent solo
artist, so I have complete creative control over my music and it feels
great!
Lamitschka:Â Who inspires you musically and how deep do your musical roots run?
Answer: I’ve
always been very inspired by other Eastern Kentucky artiss. Patty
Loveless, Loretta Lynn and Dwight Yoakum are among my favorites. I think
seeing other Kentucky artists make it in the music business always gave
me hope that it’s possible for me to.
Lamitschka:Â What do you think about today’s music industry?
Answer:Â Â The
music industry today is kind of like the wild west! There are no rules
and no one really knows what’s going on and it’s changing quickly. I
think that makes it fun and exciting and also a bit frustrating. I am
thankful for the music industry today because it offers more
opportunities than ever for independent artists like myself.
Lamitschka:
As an artist, you so many tasks such as recording, touring, interviews.
What do you like best, what’s your favorite activity?
Answer:Â I love it all but I think my favorite thing is going into the studio and watching a song really come to life.
Lamitschka:Â What inspired you to become a songwriter?
Answer:Â One
day when I was 13 years old a song just came to me. The lyrics and the
melody just popped into my head. I wasn’t sitting down trying to write a
song, it just happened. Since then I haven’t stopped getting ideas out
of the blue. I love when it happens.
Lamitschka:Â What drives you?
Answer:Â My love for music and to create it.
Lamitschka:
Many music fans today get their information about artists online. Do
you have your own website and what will fans find there?
Answer:Â My
instagram or my facebook is definitely the best way to keep up with me
and what I am doing. I share my music there, but I also love sharing
pictures of all my animals, flowers and garden! I love that facebook and
instagram make it so easy to connect with fans. You can find social
