The prestigious panel of disc jockeys with the Academy of Western
Artists has recognized singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez once again with a
nomination for their 2020 Will Rogers Awards Ceremony. Bobby Marquez’s
recording of the classic, “An Empty Glass” is up for Pure Country Song
of the Year. Marquez was awarded in that category last year for his
Grammy-considered duet with Rhonda Vincent, “For Awhile.”
“This organization really embraces all I love about music and the
western lifestyle. It brings together country, Western swing and cowboy
music along with the artisans. And the disc jockeys choose their
favorites without any corporate restrictions. I am so proud to be
included,” shares Bobby Marquez.
This year, the awards will be presented at a special ceremony on
April 9, 2020, in the Brown Lupton Ballroom in Fort Worth, Texas on the
campus of Texas Christian University. The event is open to the public.

“An Empty Glass,” remains one of the most popular songs Marquez
performs live. It has also been nominated for an International
European Award at the first annual Red Carpet Awards to be held in
Holland November 7, 2020. Marquez’s version of the dance hall standard
is up for Traditional Country Song of the Year.

titled, “The Cowboy Way.” Bobby Marquez shares, “The lyrics of that song
just rip my heart out. This guy feels there is nothing else left and
nowhere to turn. But, then it hits him that he can carry-on and pull
