After ten years of silence on the airwaves, one of Australia’s most beloved roots and Americana acts is finally back. Bob Corbett & The Roo Grass Band have officially announced their return with the brand-new single “Disclaimers,” via the independent country label RTC Records.

The track marks a long-awaited reunion for the 2012 Toyota Star Maker winner and four-time Golden Guitar nominees, proving that their signature “Roo Grass” sound hasn’t lost a beat of its infectious, harmony-rich spirit.

A Love Anthem for the Rest of Us

“Disclaimers” is a refreshing departure from the polished, overly serious ballads that often dominate the genre. Instead, it is a playful love anthem that channels a vibrant mix of country, bluegrass, and Americana. The song serves as a celebration of the messy, hilarious, and utterly human moments that define real-world relationships—the stumbles, the mix-ups, and the uncontrollable laughter.

Wrapped in the band’s trademark acoustic warmth, the track is a sonic reminder that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable. According to Corbett, the “messiness” of the song’s subject matter mirrors the journey of the band itself.

“When I wrote ‘Disclaimers’, I was writing for us… After a decade away from releasing new music, it felt right to return with something playful, honest, fun and a little messy,” says Bob Corbett. “Recording it felt like coming home to family: full of laughter, spontaneity and heart.”

A Legacy of “Roo Grass” Magic

For those who followed the Australian country scene in the early 2010s, the return of Bob Corbett & The Roo Grass Band is a major event. The group built a formidable reputation as one of the country’s most exciting live acts, known for shows that radiated joy.

Their impressive resume includes:

  • Six original albums that earned heavy rotation on national radio.

  • National TV appearances on ABC TV’s Rage, CMC, The Range, and Sunrise.

  • Mainstage performances at iconic festivals including CMC Rocks, Gympie Muster, Deni Ute Muster, and the CMA Festival in Nashville.

Beyond the music, the band has always been defined by their character. Over sixteen years, they have been staunch supporters of charitable causes, raising over $10,000 for organizations such as Melanoma Institute Australia, Cancer Council Australia, and Lifeline. While the band shifted into a lighter schedule over the last several years—reuniting only for the occasional show to reconnect with their dedicated fanbase—this new single signals a definitive start to a fresh chapter.

What’s Next for the Band?

The release of “Disclaimers” is more than just a one-off single; it is the first taste of a collection of new songs currently on the horizon. With their harmony-rich vocals and “Roo Grass” spirit fully intact, the band is ready to reclaim their spot on the festival circuit and in the hearts of Americana fans across the globe.
