Nashville, Tenn (April 13, 2011) – Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge on Nashville’s lower Broadway was the place to be Tuesday night as country music’s Grammy Award-winning Billy Dean and NBC Today Show host Lester Holt tore down the house.
Much to the crowd’s delight, Holt, an accomplished bass player, joined Dean on stage and ripped through several classics including Merle Haggard’s “Workin’ Man’s Blues” and the Georgia Satellite’s “Keep Your Hands To Yourself.”
“I can’t tell you how much fun I had jamming with Lester on the stage of the world’s greatest honky-tonk,” says Dean. “It was an honor playing with one of America’s greatest newsmen. And that ol’ boy can play some mean bass guitar!”
