For 2024 CMAA Achiever Awards Legacy Artist – Bill Chambers it has been a stellar career. An artist, musician and also as a producer in his own right, he is definitely one of the finest and down to earth within Australia’s Country Music Industry.

Bill has travelled a country mile and some, worked and graced stages with many artists over the years performing his solo works, in his daughters Kasey’s band and helping out aspiring artists get a leg up within the industry through his support as a musician and with his incredible work as a producer within the studio which he has done for many years now also.

Bill has many accolades throughout his long career & having won both a Golden Guitar & a TSA award in 1992 for the song he penned “Things Are Not The Same on the Land” – Slim Dusty The Country Music Awards of Australia (CMAA) (also known as the Golden Guitar Awards) is an annual awards night held in January during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, celebrating recording excellence in the Australian country music industry. They have been held annually since 1973. Bill won the Smokey Dawson award in 1992.

 The Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) is an annual songwriting contest for original country songs, awarded in January at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. They commenced in 1986. Bill won the award for Traditional Bush Ballad of the Year in 1992.

The Australian Independent Record Awards (commonly known informally as AIR Awards) is an annual awards night to recognise, promote and celebrate the success of Australia’s Independent Music sector. Best Independent Country Album 2017 for Cold Trail.

The ARIA Music Awards is an annual awards ceremony that recognises excellence, innovation, and achievement across all genres of Australian music. Bill Chambers has been nominated twice for Best Country Album in 2003 for Sleeping with the Blues & 2016 Cold Trail.

Bill Chambers was born in Southend, South Australia. It wasn’t always easy going and music with Bill spending time upon the Nullarbor Plain earning a living by hunting and trapping rabbits and foxes that raided Nullarbor poultry farms, then selling the pelts.

Bill established the Dead Ringer band with his former wife & children in the 1980’s whom recorded 4 studio albums. Bill relocated in the late 1990’s where he started as a producer & working upon his solo careers & that of supporting his daughter Kasey’s career.
