In a town where time in the spotlight is coveted, Big Joe’s Big Night Out is offering both
artists and shower-singers alike the opportunity to steal that spotlight. Every Thursday
from 8pm-12am, hundreds gather at the world-famous Pick’s Nashville for their chance
to perform with a live band. The event, hosted by Nashville Music Guide managing
editor Joe Matthews and co-hosted by singer/songwriter Rachael Johnson, features some
of Nashville’s finest musicians – Doug Littlejohn (bass), Derek Smith (drums), and Jason
Witt (keys), among others – set-up to play in a karaoke-style format.
Asked what the motivation was for hosting such an event, Matthews explains, “It’s a
blast for me as a fan of country music to be able to step out of the office and perform, as
well as watch others get up and do their thing.” Sponsored by Nashville Music Guide,
New Media Edge and NixaCountry.com, Big Joe’s Big Night Out has already seen
performances from up-and-coming artists Morgan Frazier (Curb Records), David Ray
(TCM Records), and Jason Mitchell (DMP/Stroudavarious Records). With all levels of
talent welcome, drink specials, and giveaways throughout the night, the event offers a
unique experience for all present.
Check out Big Joe’s Big Night Out at Pick’s Nashville every Thursday from 8pm-12am –
1407 Division Street in Nashville, connected to the Best Western Music Row.
