BIG AND RICH……AND HEADING UP NORTH
It’s been 3 years since one of Country’s biggest acts have been on tour together, but beginning this week in Alberta, Canada, Big And Rich are “coming to your city” and they are packin’ a punch. The talented duo consisting of John Rich, fresh off his big win on “Celebrity Apprentice”, and Big Kenny, now back in good health following his neck surgery a few years back, are back and it appears they are picking up right where they left off.
After spending the last few years working on solo projects, like John Rich’s masterful “Shuttin’ Detroit Down” and his work on various TV shows like CMT’s “Gone Country” and “Celebrity Apprentice” it appears the two legendary songwriters and performers are well rested and itchin’ to get back out there in front of their army of fans. According to their website, they will spend the rest of the summer zig-zagging all over North America, with something like over 30 shows on the books right now and new ones still being added at the time of this writing.
It also appears that they are bringing some friends along for the ride, Muzik Mafia pals Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred have signed on to make the shows more like something the duo has affectionately referred to as “the freak parade”. Big and Rich show are well-known to be “a little more like a 3-ring circus than a rock concert”, but fans love it!! So if you are living in Canada or the U.S., there’s a good chance the “Extreme Muzik Tour” (as they call it) will be “Here For The Party” at a festival or arena near you…very soon!!

In interviews leading up to the tour, in the last few weeks, John and Kenny have suggested that we are in store for a lot more than just a summer tour. In fact, new Big and Rich music is already on the horizon, with the new song “Fake ID”, which the duo recorded for the new remake of the movie “Footloose”, starring another big Country star, Julianne Hough, which is supposed to hit screens on or about October 14th. So watch for that, as well!!
So needless to say, Big and Rich are here to stay and fans all over the world will be very glad about that. I have no doubt that their name is quite appropriate, in fact it wouldn’t surprise me if they, at some point, have to change their name to Bigger and Richer……and believe me, they deserve every bit of it. They are great talents and amazing songwriters and I, for one, am very excited about their return.
