David & Howard Bellamy Team with Kevin & Michael Bacon to
Re-release Collaborative Song on New Projects
Nashville, Tenn. (June 13, 2012) – This summer, “Guilty of the Crime,” the collaboration between the famous brother duos the Bellamy Brothers and the Bacon Brothers will be re-released by both groups. The song is featured on the Bellamys new box set released by Reader’s Digest entitled Let Your Love Flow: The Ultimate Bellamy Brothers Collection which is available for purchase now through ReadersDigest.com. The Bacon Brothers, comprised of actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael Bacon, will also re-release the song including it on their new greatest hits album, Philadelphia Road – The Best of the Bacon Brothers available June 19.
“It really has become one of our favorite songs,” says David Bellamy,
“and by that I don’t simply mean that it’s a great song and we always
love playing it. That’s just half of it. The other half is the whole
experience we had working with Kevin and Michael and shooting the video
with Shannon Doherty was something really special.”

“We shot the video in Memphis’ Shelby County Correctional Center,” adds Howard Bellamy. “’Hustle
& Flow’ and parts of ‘Walk the Line’ were shot there too. We have a
lot of great memories from it. I’m sure it’s the same for the Bacons,
and that’s why we both released it again on our new collections.”

The song and video, originally released in 2009 on the Bellamy Brothers’ Anthology Volume 1 album, came as a result of a relationship that was forged at a live show in Sturgis, South Dakota, where both bands performed.
“We
first met Howard and David at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally where they
invited us to hang with them on their bus and we quickly became
friends,” says Kevin Bacon. “About a year later the Bellamy camp asked
if we’d sing on ‘Guilty of the Crime’ for the Anthology CD and of course
we jumped on it!”

Michael
Bacon adds, “The double duet ended up working well and we joined them
at a West Tennessee prison to shoot the video. It was a total gas.
Later on they asked us to sing ‘Guilty’ with them on the Grand Ole
Opry. I have to say that in my 40 plus years in the music business,
singing with the Bellamy Brothers at the Opry was a very high point.”
