As the name suggests, the band Bayou Alligators (Germany), who actually play primarily Zydeco and Cajun music, made a musical detour into the blues genre with this CD.
Authentic and unique, like no other German Zydeco band, the Bayou Alligators present Zydeco, blues and roots music from the swamps of Louisiana. For 27 years now, honest joy of playing, instrumental expertise combined with the art of improvisation and a guaranteed rousing stage show have been part of the band the band’s trademarks.
With the unmistakable Zydeco groove and a generous dash of rhythm & blues, a carpet of irresistible dance grooves is spread out. The musical focus is on the Cajun accordion and the typical rubboard, which are characteristic of this music, supported and rounded off by a well-founded bass groove and distinctive blues guitar sounds.
The musicians on the CD were: Frank Müller, Steffen Strauss, Harald du Bellier, Burkhard Tischer, Franz Ufo Albinger, Zoltan Lengyel. From funk, rock’n roll, shuffle, soul to worn blues ballads (Track 5: The Moment I Met You) everything is represented here. A must-have CD for lovers of the blues.
