REPUBLIC NASHVILLE’S
THE BAND PERRY WRAPS A WHIRLWIND CMA MUSIC FEST
ABC Captures The Trio’s
Moves From The CMT Music Awards To Their CMA Music Fest LP Field Performance & Co-Hosting Duties And A Tour Stop In Chicago
NASHVILLE, TN (June 14, 2012)—Named as one of the hardest-working bands in country music, The Band Perry
definitely put that title to the test last week, experiencing their busiest CMA Music Festival ever … with the ABC-TV cameras on hand to catch most of the fun! Exhibiting a surplus of energy – or adrenaline – the brothers and sister trio kicked off the week with performance and presentation slots on Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards.
On Thursday morning, they hosted their first-ever fan club party
for 200 fans before making a surprise appearance on The Buckle Stage to help The Grand Ole Opry raise funds for the Opry Fund by auctioning a specially-decorated guitar autographed by the band. On Friday evening, the sibling trio performed a full set on the main stage at LP Field for CMA Music Fest attendees then boarded their bus for Chicago, where they opened for Brad Paisley on Saturday night at Wrigley Field. Following the Paisley tour date, the three returned to Nashville, where they greeted fans at the BMLG Booth in Fan Fair Hall.
In between all of those activities, Kimberly (with help from
brothers Reid and Neil) also hosted various segments of the upcoming ABC network TV special, “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock,” along with co-host Luke Bryan. The special is slated to air on September 17 at 8 p.m. EDT.
Undoubtedly, The Band Perry’s highlight of the week was their Fan
Club party, which was held at the Hard Rock Café in downtown Nashville, just steps away from the rest of the action. Making the fans the star for the day, the band rolled out the red carpet and let the fans experience a little of the celebrity life first-hand at the special event. Fans did interviews with camera crews and posed for individual photos with Kimberly, Reid and Neil, in between bites of scrumptious cupcakes and other delicious goodies at the vintage, “country-chic” themed party.
The Band Perry also unveiled their brand new fan club – “The Fans Perry” (www.thefansperry.com)
– inducting their guests as the inaugural members and honored some special fans with TBP statues, including their sweet grandmother Betty Lou, who was named the band’s “Number One Fan.”
“This award is like Entertainer of the Year,” said
Kimberly, as she hugged her grandma in front of the packed house. “The ‘Number One Fan’ award will now be officially titled ‘The Betty Lou Award.’”
The host and crew from the Travel Channel’s new show “Trip Flip” were on hand to capture all the action at the Perry party,
surprising a lucky couple and getting them a front-row seat at the event as part of their “flipped trip” CMA Music Fest experience. ABC-TV also documented the occasion for a special “Day in the Life” piece on the band that will be included in the “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock” special. |
