Ashley Puckett Interview Part 4

Ashley Puckett Interview Part 4

by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International

Lamitschka:  Who is your biggest critic, yourself or others?

Puckett: Definitly myself!  200%

Lamitschka:  When you get time off, how do you like to relax?

Puckett: Depending on the mood, i love to travel, love the Caribbean, love wine and tequila or a good captain and coke… watching movies, or feeding my adrenaline skydiving or bungee jumping. To me, even those extreme activities calm me down in a weird way at times.

Lamitschka:  Is there anything in your life that you would change if you could?

Puckett: I‘m sure we‘d all have at least a small list…. But life‘s a dance, we learn as we go.

Lamitschka:  What hopes and desires do you have?

Puckett: I want to be an icon, one that stays true and people look up to for good reasons.  I want to win a Grammy and a few ACM/CMAs wouldn‘t hurt either.  I‘m still working my way there.  Aside from that, i‘ve got other desires not related to music.  I want to get married, have a beautiful dream wedding, i‘ve always wanted to see the edge of space and would love to take a MIG-29 flight to see it before i get too old and can‘t stomach the G-forces. Haha.  i‘ve always wanted to see Fiji or Tahiti, or both.

Lamitschka:  What has been the biggest disappointment in your life?

Puckett: looking back, i‘ve never had timing on my side.  I sometimes regret not pushing music years and years before i did and letting others stand in my way, but at the end of the day, i think all of that happened for a reason.  Theres some more personal feelings about certain things in life that i feel i‘ve disappointed myself.  Those types of things however, you can only learn from and know that you are in charge of your own happiness.  I can say however, that although i‘ve had little disappointments here and there no matter what they are, i have had far more blessings to dwell on them.

Lamitschka:  Many European fans travel to the United States to attend the several of the music festivals for the opportunity to see so many of their favorite artists, bands and celebrities. Will you be participating and how will the fans be able to find you?

Puckett: Hopefully this year coming i will be able to take part in CMA Fest in Nashville.  Fingers crossed.  Otherwise, i‘m always up to date with touring and appearances on my website www.AshleyPuckett.com

Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven’t played that you would like to?

Puckett: CMA Fest and Grand Ol Opry

Lamitschka:  What can your fans expect to see when they see you in concert?

Puckett: I‘m a very personal performer.  Usually pretty laid back.  Might take a shot before or after to take off the edge.  Haha.

Lamitschka:  When you’re on tour, do you have time to play tourist?

Puckett: when i travel, i like to see as much as i can so i do my best to at least see something unique wherever i am.

Lamitschka:  Do fans mob you everywhere you go or do they respect your privacy?

Puckett: I‘m not at that point yet.  I‘ve had some pretty cool experiences though, and none of them super overwhelming.
