Nashville, TN (August 9, 2013) – Sony recording
artist Angie Johnson will be a special guest at the Cheez-It 355 NASCAR
Sprint Cup Race at The Glen, in Watkins Glen, NY this weekend where she
will start the festivities by singing the National Anthem, serving as
the Grand Marshal for the festivities, riding in the pace car and giving
the “Driver’s start your engines” command for the famed race.

Johnson is also celebrating her own victory this week as she just
released her very first single to radio, “Swagger” which she co-wrote.
The song is a fun up-tempo, forget your troubles and have a good time
tune, guaranteed to make you wanna tap your foot!

The single is the 4th most added on the Music Row chart this week and Angie is the most added female artist this week.

Johnson, who is still serving in the Air National Guard, was also
awarded a Commendation Medal this past week from her Commander with the
571st in St. Louis, MO, where Johnson serves one weekend a month and two weeks a year in the Air National Guard.
Sony Music Nashville recording artist, Angie Johnson, began her
military career as an intelligence analyst in the United States Air
Force. She later toured as a vocalist with the prestigious Tops In Blue performance
group for a yearlong temporary duty. Upon completion of Tops in Blue
she was recruited into the Air Force Band as a full-time lead vocalist.
She was honorably discharged after fulfilling her active duty commitment
and then transitioned into the Missouri Air National Guard’s 571st Air
Force Band, as the lead vocalist in their Top 40 element, Sidewinder.  Angie was deployed with Sidewinder to
an undisclosed location in the Middle East, where the band gave an
impromptu performance for a small group of troops. An audience member
recorded Angie’s rendition of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and posted
the video on YouTube, where it went viral. The now-famous video has
received more than 3.3 million views and can be seen here: Angie Johnson YouTube Video. Television
host Carson Daly saw the video, tracked Angie down via Twitter and
invited her to audition for NBC’s “The Voice,” where she became a
contestant on Team Cee Lo. The extensive media exposure, combined with
her talent and tenacity, caught the attention of Sony Music where she
signed a record deal in the fall of 2012.  Her debut EP, Sing For You, was released digitally May 21, 2013.
