ANGEL MARY AND THE TENNESSEE WEREWOLVES TEAM UP WITH JOHN CARTER CASH, RELEASE FOLSOM PRISON BLUES
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 22nd, 2013) – Country recording trio Angel Mary and the Tennessee Werewolves has officially announced Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues as their next single, set to release to radio on July 30th – the same day Cash recorded the song in 1955. Produced by the legend’s son John Carter Cash and recorded at The Cash Cabin Studio in Nashville (where some of Cash’s later recordings were created and parts of feature film Walk the Line was filmed), the recording also features Carter Cash on acoustic guitar, Rob Caggiano of rock group Volbeat on electric guitar, and the trio’s own Angel Mary on lead vocals – making this the first cover release of Folsom Prison Blues to feature a female lead.
