Kane Vincent delivers his latest single, Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane)

Love sure can drive you crazy, but Kane Vincent takes a new look at the absurd idea of embracing the chaos and intensity in Crazy Love (Drive Me Sane). As he surrenders to the inspiration, this new plan is evidence that the healing has begun. Vincent sings with an engaging clear voiced conviction, “Crazy love hits you when you least expect it to, like a drug, just a taste and it’ll get its hooks in you.” Built on a melody that Kane had already shaped, the song transformed a relationship with his partner, manifesting her into his life.
Crazy Love has a great colorful sonic feel right from the intro with its trading between piano and slide guitar in a diatonic downward progression. Behind this playful start, the drums beat out a cross between a train beat and a shuffle, driving this modern country song with a momentum that matches the stormy lyrics. ”I was down when you came knocking on my door, thought I knew it all, just a clown with a busted heart and a broken jaw.” Vincent transports the listener into his world as he escapes the norm and welcomes relief from the storms of life, soulfully singing, “Crazy love, take the wheel, I feel only you can drive me sane.”
Thoughtfully produced by Liam Kennedy-Clark, the tune was co written by Vincent and Kevin Bennett. Pulled from his debut album, Spotfires and Second Wives, Crazy Love is a fitting ending to his ten song release. There’s a blend of folk/ pop sensibility mixed beside a healthy dose of country and blues all delivered with a soulful edge. The track maneuvers through the verses and choruses with ease as the electric and acoustic guitar work shines throughout with a nice simple, but elegant, slide solo. The piano drops in pleasing fills between Kane’s effective vocal lines with a quiet reserve playing just the right notes. In the outro, the instrumental battles pick up and there’s a determined energy pushing into the final diamond of the song.
Vincent Kane was born and raised in Echuca, Australia, but spent his formative teen years in Urbana, Illinois where he found his love for guitar. He took to heart, the lyrics of a Jason Isbel song to “find what makes you happy and do it till you’re gone.” ABC Country called Crazy Love, “A stunning slice of musical joy.” With a host of recent successful highlights under his belt, it appears that we’ll be hearing more from Kane Vincent.
