Shelley Rae Speck Interview Part 4

Award-winning singer/songwriter Shelley Rae Speck and Dream Loud records recently released the first single from her upcoming untitled debut EP. “The Bottle’s On My Side,” a buzz single debuted in the Top Ten on Amazon Music’s Hot New Releases sales chart while receiving a warm welcome from Americana, Folk, Country, and Adult Contemporary audiences and the stations they listen to.

Lamitschka:  When you get time off, how do you like to relax?

 

Shelley Rae Speck:  I love being oudoors. The Coachella Valley is 20 minutes away from Joshua Tree National monument and my dog and I go there every chane we get. There are also great hiking trails locally. You can even see Big Horn Sheep.

 

Lamitschka:  Is there anything in your life that you would change if you could?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: Not a thing.

 

Lamitschka:  What hopes and desires do you have?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: I want a Grammy. I want a number one single and a number one Album. I want to continue to write meaningful songs.

 

Lamitschka:  What has been the biggest disappointment in your life?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: The one that got away.

 

Lamitschka:  Many European fans travel to the United States to attend the several of the music festivals for the opportunity to see so many of their favorite artists, bands and celebrities. Will you be participating and how will the fans be able to find you?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: I wont be touring until I finish my record but check me out and follow me on Instgram, iTunes and even amazon has my single.

 

Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven’t played that you would like to?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: Yeah. Red Rocks Park and Ampitheater, Colorado

 

Lamitschka:  What can your fans expect to see when they see you in concert?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: They can see and relate to an authentic performance

 

Lamitschka:  When you’re on tour, do you have time to play tourist?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: Not really

 

Lamitschka:  Do fans mob you everywhere you go or do they respect your privacy?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: I am not at that level yet. But the fans that I atrract are pretty chill

 

Lamitschka:  Tell us about the fan club and how people can join it.

Lamitschka:  What’s the best compliment a fan has ever given you?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: “You have an amazing voice“

 

Lamitschka:  What’s your favorite song that you wish you could have recorded?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: I wish I had written a Doris Day song called Secret Love

 

Lamitschka:  What message would you like to send your European fans?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: I cant wait to travel to Europe again. It’s been way too long.

 

Lamitschka:  Fans are always hungry for good road stories. Do you have one you can share with us (come on don’t be shy)?

 

Shelley Rae Speck: A road trip through my native Missouri. My next release talks about it in the 4th verse. “Riding shotgun is a furry guy, black and white. Found him up in Joplin near a truck stop sign“ I picked up a stray and now we’re friends for life.

 

Lamitschka:  Describe what a perfect day is like for you.

 

Answer:  Hiking with my dog, Mason and coming home and cooki up some down home food

 

Lamitschka:  Most careers don’t last as long as yours.  What’s given your career the staying power?

 

Answer:  I am blessed in that I keep coming up with ideas.
