9-Time Fiddle Player of the Year, Michael Cleveland Brings Flamekeeper To IBMA
September 20, 2012 (Charlestown, IN)—The International Bluegrass Music Association’s 9-Time Fiddle Player of the Year, Michael Cleveland is excited to bring his brand of hard-driving music to this year’s World Of Bluegrass!
With an exciting band of musicians forming his 4-Time Instrumental
Group of the Year, Flamekeeper, the recently turned 32-year-old
musician, has a lot to be on-fire about! In addition to three nominations for this year’s IBMA Awards, the band has several scheduled appearances throughout the week in Nashville, TN.
Beginning Tuesday, September 25th, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper will be part of a very special “SiriusXM Live From IBMA” taping before a studio audience. The event begins at 2:00pm CST at the SiriusXM Studios
in Bridgestone Arena. Joining Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper for the
concert will be Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice and The Darrell Webb
band. The event is free to the public and guests are invited to arrive
at the Bridgestone lobby no later than 1:30pm to take their seat for
what is sure to be one of the most entertaining hours of bluegrass music
the entire week. 
On Wednesday, September 26th, catch another live performance of this award-winning band when they grace the stage of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop for the annual “Bluegrass On Broadway” concert. This public concert begins at 7:00pm but Flamekeeper will take the stage at 9:05pm. The Ernest Tubb Record Shop is located at 417 Broadway, Nashville, TN and admission is free. 
Thursday, September 26th will be a very busy day for the band beginning with a performance for WAMU’s Bluegrass Country. The band will join DJ Al Steiner for 20 minutes of traditional bluegrass music at its best beginning at 2:00pm. Fans are invited to tune in at www.BluegrassCountry.org or on 105.5 FM in the Washington, DC area. AT 5:45pm, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper will make their way down the IBMA Awards Red Carpet and visit with media about their multiple nominations. The Red Carpet event will be live-streamed via BluegrassToday.com and BluegrassNation.org so be sure to tune in to catch WAMU’s Katy Daly as she chats up the nominees and asks that all important question in true Hollywood style; “Who are you wearing?” At 7:30pm, tune in to SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction as they join Bluegrass Today in carrying the broadcast of the biggest night in bluegrass, the IBMA Awards. Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper are nominated for three awards this year including Fiddle Player of the Year for Cleveland, Instrumental Group of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year for Cleveland’s performance with fellow musician Larry Cordle on the Johnny Paycheck classic country hit “Old Violin”. In addition to being nominees, Flamekeeper’s own banjo player extraordinaire, Glenn Gibson,
will perform during the IBMA Awards for the very first time when he
joins an elite group of musicians in a tribute finale guaranteed to
receive a standing ovation! 
After a good night’s sleep, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper will return to the stage of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop on Friday, September 28th for “Bluegrass On Broadway Continues”. The band will close out an exciting night of music with their performance that begins at 10:30pm.
Saturday, September 29th, fans will have an exciting opportunity to join in the fun with this powerhouse of musicians when the band hosts a Celebrity Jam beginning at 11:00am.
Fans are invited to bring their favorite instrument and spend an hour
with one of the most awarded musicians in the IBMA’s history while
standing toe to toe with the future of bluegrass, young musicians from
the Kids On Bluegrass program. At 12:30, follow Michael Cleveland to NCC 209/210 for a fiddle workshop. Cleveland will join noted studio musician Aubrie Haynie
for an hour long instructional workshop where fans will have the chance
to ask questions about the fiddle and receive tips on playing from two
of the best in the business. Cleveland will join back up with
Flamekeeper at 2:00pm when they perform inside the Exhibit Hall at the Martin Guitars booth. The band will then close out their time in Nashville this year with a performance on the main stage during Fan Fest at 7:00pm.
