MELINDA MIERS ANNOUNCED AS MASTER OF CEREMONIES
FOR 20th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF WESTERN MUSIC AWARDS
Performers and Presents Also Announced For Awards Show
Melinda
Miers, Co-Producer of the Legends of Western Swing Festival in Wichita
Falls, Texas, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the 20th annual Academy of Western Music awards show on March 12 in Fort Worth, Texas. The awards show will be held in the
Brown Lupton Ballroom at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
Announced as performers for the event are Cowboy Joe Babcock, Hanson Family, Jake Penrod, LeeLee Robert, Myra Rolen and 2 Country 4 Nashville.
Presenters include Daniel Williams, TCU Press; Tom Cartlidge, Olsen Stelzer Boot Company; and Jim Linnell, Tandy Leather Marketing Director.
Also
announced as presenters are Wayne Mitchell, Western Collector and Texas
Rancher; B.K. Nuzum, Chuck Wagon historian and builder from Oklahoma;
Don Caldwell, Event Promoter; Billy Bowles, Radio Personality; Marvin
O’Dell, Radio Personality; Barbara Martin, Editor, “Western Swing
Monthly”; and Deborah Evans Price, freelance journalist/“Billboard”
magazine.
Awards
will be presented to performers in Western Music, Western Swing and
Western Country music categories. Award winners in the Western Trappings
categories have already been announced, and winners will be recognized
during the awards show. 
Tickets for the dinner and awards show are $75 per person or $750 per table (table seats eight). There will be a cash bar. Tickets must be purchased by March 5.  No tickets will be sold the night of the event.
The Billy Bowles Birthday Bash and 3rd
Annual Swinging Country and AWA Pre-Awards Jam & Dance on Friday,
March 11 at the Longhorn Saloon in Ft. Worth’s Stockyards area, 121 West
Exchange, Fort Worth, Texas. Among the performers will be Myra Rolen,
Chuck Cusimano, Cathy Whitten, Lonnie Spiker, 2 Country 4 Nashville,
Colby Carter, Rikki Daniel, Alex Dormot, Leddy Bragg, Cowboy Joe
Babcock, Randy Tex Hill, Greg Gibbs, Kerry Wallace, Bob Marshall, Allen
and Jill Kirkham, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Hanson Family, Jim Jones, Doug
Figgs and Carol Markstrom. The United States Navy Color Guard is opening
the show and Taylor Rudd will do the invocation. Rikki Daniel will do
the National Anthem.

Winners will be announced during the 20th
annual Academy of Western Music Awards Show on March 12 in the Brown

Dinner is at 6 p.m. The awards show starts at 7:30 p.m.
