It is always a particular pleasure to
report about young artists who are just beginning their careers, like in this
case of Arista Manning.

The 22-year-old farmer’s daughter from
Kentucky sang in a church choir in her childhood, then later took part in local
talent shows and began recording demos at the age of 18. At the same time, she
tried to establish contacts in the country labels in Nashville. In addition to
her studies at Murray State University (public relations and journalism), she
continued her music career and released her debut album in September 2016 in
the form of an EP containing five self-composed songs. A video for the
resulting single “Southern Drawl” was added, which brought the
artist’s attention to numerous American radio stations.

Due to the consistently brisk tempos, the work appears to be from a single source, only the use
of stringed instruments in “Wrapped Up In Me” and the rocking touch
in “Southern Drawl” are a bit out of the ordinary, without changing
the stylistic direction significantly.

In terms of content, the arc of belief and
spirituality spans the enjoyment of the moment and life in the here and now.

Arista Manning’s powerful and impressive
voice is convincing in all of the pieces.

It is to be hoped that this EP will soon be
followed by a full album which will help the young singer achieve the success
she deserves.
