CD Review: Molly Lovette – One Woman Show – by Jeffry Kurtis for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

In today’s modern era of marketing and
promotion, an artist can gain a considerable amount of traction and build a solid
grassroot following through streaming and social media outlets. With over 473K combined
streams on Spotify, it’s safe to say that Molly Lovette has figured out a tremendous
formula. However, the trick to sustaining further success will still always come
down to the same attribute that it always has; powerful songs that connect the
artist with the listener.

With her last single “Lovin’ You,” the
powerhouse vocalist quickly earned favorable reviews that often compared her to
today’s strong female artists such as Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris, and
Taylor Swift. She now returns with the ultra-catchy “One Woman Show” and boldly
opens her next chapter by embracing the fact that it’s okay to be strong and
independent.

The quick, 15-second intro carries a
groove that grabs your attention, but it’s when it comes together with
Lovette’s voice that you’ll immediately understand what the buzz is all about.
She’s a natural born storyteller and as she sings the opening lines, “A few
broken hearts might get you down, keep calm carry on, pick up your crown,” she
instantly comforts you through your speakers in the same way a best friend does
when they’re there for you when you need them most.

The encouraging lyrics continue to
display a message of staying strong and keeping your focus so to not be
derailed by the things that have the potential to knock you off course.

Where most songs of this nature, though,
will stop with that “hang in there” message, Lovette refuses let you stay in your
down moment which is what brings this song to a new level.

“Take some time to find your shine” and
“life and love can wait, all you need is a break, take some time enjoy your
shine,” are just two of the lines that remind us to get back up and find
yourself again in the midst of being forced into a new path due to an
unpredictable change in your life.

Though “One Woman Show” has been deemed
as an empowerment anthem for the independent woman, it really has the ability
to stretch beyond that reach as it’s a song for anyone who needs to remind
themselves who they are, what their dreams are, and ultimately, that it’s okay to
go forward on your own (if needs be) to achieve what you need to for your life.

I recently posted the following quote on
my own Facebook Page and the overall message of “One Woman Show” fits snuggly
in with that post: “Every good thing that has happened in your life happened
because something changed.”
