JoLivi Interview by Christian Lamitschka for Country Music News International Magazine & Radio Show

1.
Lamitschka:  Music has many new fans throughout Europe who may be
hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself
and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?

Answer: I have done different genres of music and I try to bring that to my country tracks… I bring a soulful, island flavor.

2. Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?

Answer: The
last year was crazy busy… I decided that I was going to move to
Nashville full time and continue my career.  I got to perform at the
Listening Room with Song Suffragettes and meet a lot of incredible
female performers in the industry.

3. Lamitschka:  What is your favorite song among all the songs you have recorded and what’s the story behind it?

Answer: I really enjoyed writing my previous single Crooked Crown. I
wanted to write a track that described all the times I had to pick
myself back up from a fail.  That I’m stronger even when the worst
happens.. and every time that happens just to make sure I fix my crown.
🙂

4. Lamitschka:  Do you have any interesting stories about how fans have been affected by your music?

Answer: On my most recent radio tour, I had a few fans come up to me after my performance
and chat with me about how they related to my songs.  I write my music
so that it can have a positive effect on my listeners.

5. Lamitschka:  Who inspires you musically and how deep do your musical roots run?

Answer: My
grandfather was a Hawaiian singer/musician, so since I was very little I
was surrounded by music. He was the most inspirational person in my
life.  He played many instruments and had the most angelic voice.  James
Taylor has also been a huge inspiration in his writing style.

6. Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become an artist?

Answer: Music
is my all-time healer.  Anytime I’m sad or happy or even just putting
on my make-up, music is always playing.  They way that it makes me feel I
knew I wanted to apart of that.

7. Lamitschka:  What has been your greatest challenge in music business?

Answer: There’s no algorithm
for success in this industry so I’ve had some very high highs and some
very low lows, but what i’ve taken from that is more determination.  I
have so much more still to prove.

8. Lamitschka:  What moments in your career stand out in your memory as highlights and achievements which you are proud of?

Answer: I got to perform as Aida in the musical Aida at
the Fringe Festival in Edinburg, Scotland.  It was my first
true achievement in my music.  Then my first EP got on a retail radio
spin for a couple years now.  Also opening for Andy Grammar, Gavin
Degraw, and Lindsey
Sterling.

9. Lamitschka:  Is there any place you haven’t played that you would like to?

Answer: Madison Square Garden is my all time goal!

10.
Lamitschka:  Many music fans today get their information about artists
online. Do you have your own website and what will fans find there?

Answer: I have all platforms of social media

Twitter: @jolivimusic  / Instagram: jolivimusic  / Facebook: jolivimusic  /  Youtube: jolivimusic  / jolivimusic.com

11. Lamitschka:  What’s the best compliment a fan has ever given you?

Answer: After
a show, a woman and her husband came up to say how much they enjoyed
the performance.  The man went on to say how beautiful my voice was and
how he could follow the story of my music.  Before they left the women
came up to me
separately and said that her husband was blind.   At that moment I truly felt like I could have the ability to make people feel.

12. Lamitschka:  Describe what a perfect day is like for you.

Answer: Getting
to spin in the morning if possible.. maybe hitting the driving range..
eating everything lol! and hanging out with my best friend and the dogs!
