ADAM WAKEFIELD TO RELEASE “BLAME IT ON ME” FRIDAY

ADAM WAKEFIELD TO RELEASE “BLAME IT ON ME” FRIDAY
New Music By Former The Voice Contestant Available Ahead of Summer EP Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 23, 2017)
Adam Wakefield announced yesterday the release of new track “Blame It
On Me”, available digitally tomorrow, March 24. The release marks the
first from The Voice contestant’s upcoming EP, due out this
summer – and the first formal release since he finished runner-up on
Team Blake last year.

The song, written by Adam Cunningham, Nolan Neal and Aron Leigh, was one
Wakefield knew was the right release for him after hearing his band
perform it live.

“Nolan had played me the song while we were out in L.A., and I loved
it,” said Wakefield. “Still, I was a bit resistant to cutting a song
that wasn’t one I’d written. But when my band and I worked it up and
played it live I just knew it was the one.”

In anticipation for the release, Wakefield surprised fans with an exclusive first listen, made possible via popular outlet One Country on Wednesday.

Though a seasoned musician, going out on the road with artist Chris Cagle and Keith Anderson, Wakefield’s spot on The Voice was his introduction to artistry –  an opportunity that pushed him to the front of the stage for the first time.

“I’d become comfortable as a musician and hadn’t really entertained becoming an artist,” said Wakefield. “The Voice brought
out another side of me. It wasn’t just something I came to love, but
something I seemed to excel at. I didn’t initially choose to become an
artist – artistry kind of chose me.”

“Blame It On Me” will be available digitally beginning March 24 here

About Adam Wakefield:
Adam
Wakefield is a singer-songwriter who has secured his place in
Nashville, TN, but is far from the typical artist one may expect to find
in the Country Music Capital of the World. Adam began as a pianist and
segued into becoming a musician in a band, carving out some time to
sharpen his skills as a songwriter. While playing a gig in Nashville, â€‹a
talent scout from NBC’s The Voice asked him to audition for the show.
The audition led to a successful run, including the performance of
his self-penned song, “Lonesome Broken and Blue,” as a finalist on
Blake Shelton’s team. The original track climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes
Top 100 songs chart and became the season’s top debut on Billboard’s
Hot 100 chart (No. 73). Additionally, the single debuted as his highest
charting of nine entries on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs (No. 14). Adam
is now digging deeper into his personal songwriting catalog in the
recording studio and on the road, introducing his original material to
the fan base he quickly built, while reaching new audiences as well.
