Interview with Bobby Tomberlin

A Twelve Pack with Bobby
Tomberlin (Award-winning songwriter and my friend)

[1] Tell me, Booby, what is your earliest musical memory?
Singing “I Saw The Light” on a tree stump at my
Grandparents home.
[2] If you were to be left on a deserted island for one year and
you could pick three albums to be there with you and couldn’t pick any of your
own, what would you pick?
   1.  Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison
   2.  James Taylor’s Greatest Hits
   3.  Hank Williams Jr and Friends
[3] Which one of superman’s powers would you like to have?
Speed!
[4] Please finish the sentence: I would love to have been there in
musical history when ____?
Hank Williams made his Opry debut.
[5] Your house is on fire – all your family, children and pets are
saved. By the trick of fate you are told you can run in and get one item to
carry out, what will you save from the flames?
A hat formerly owned by my buddy, Little Jimmy Dickens. He was
like a Grandfather to me.
[6] If you could have dinner with George Washington or George
Strait, which one would you chose and why?
George Washington. Can you imagine the conversation with our
founding Father?
[7] Which song or album are you listening to the most right
now?        The Essential Bobby Bare
[8] If you could record or perform a song with another artist or
group, (dead or alive) who would that “dream duet” be?
Hank Williams Sr.
[9] If you could be given “songwriter’s credit” for writing one
song that has already been written, what song would you pick?
“Sunday Morning Coming Down.”
[10] If you could get a phone call from one person in the world
right now (living or deceased) whom would you like to hear from?
Phil Everly. He was a great friend and I miss his phone
calls.
[11] If you had a $10,000 gift card, where would you go to spend
it?
Sy Devore in Studio City, CA. They’re a great clothing store
that’s been in business since the days of Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Elvis.
[12] What are you most proud of?
My friends.
