LACtember Fest 2016 with The LACS

LACtember Fest 2016

Two weeks ago I couldn’t tell anyone
much about LACtember Fest,
or what it was and where it was, but I knew who the good ol’ boys
from southeast Georgia, The LACS, were for sure! For the last four
years the southern rock-country-rap music duo, Brian King and Clay
Sharpe, of The LACS, a penned name for Loud Ass Crackers, has
hosted the biggest redneck party in the southeast to show their
appreciation to their many fans for getting them to where they are
today, and by giving back to those same fans and their community.
LACtember Fest
, is a huge 3-day outdoor camping, mudslingin’,
4-wheelin’, mud boggin’, concert event that has grown exponentially
each year since the redneck throwdowns first began as LACtober
Fest
, in 2013 and 2014.
Nestled deep in the backwoods and under
the canopy of mossy oaks; where the alligators and snakes crawl,
where moonshine is the house wine, and honeysuckle grows sweet on the
vine is a little country town called Blackshear, Georgia and home of
Moccasin Creek Off Road Park. Moccasin
Creek Off Road
Park is the perfect
venue and atmosphere for The LACS music and fans to gather
together for good times with friends, and have a big ol’ redneck
party and mud slingin’ throwdown. For two years in a row, Moccasin
Creek Off Road Park
, has
hosted LACtember
Fest
which comes
complete with 2 days of live country music artists performing
on an outdoor stage, and rich with offering over 500 acres of land,
over 50 water RV hook-ups, spacious bath-houses, ATV wash stations,
plentiful field space for primitive campsites and RV parking, and
over 1 mile of river access that offers party-goers promises of
plenty of off road enjoyment through numerous mud bogs and miles of
trails to entertain the whole family; young and old alike.

The 3-day event is a blend of country
music, hick-hop, southern rap, southern rock and outlaw country
music, lots of fun, plenty of muddin’ and 4Wheelin’, and just what
the doctor prescribed for these Kickin’ Up Mud friends! It has
even been rumored the kids bargain for Christmas and birthday
gifts/tickets to the grand event, and adoring fans actually plan
their vacations and honeymoons around LACtember Fest!!! Last
year’s attendance was calculated at approximately 2,000 party-goers,
but this year, LACtember Fest 2016, shattered and surpassed
all previous records combined with a total of approximately 6,000
fans in attendance! Now that’s what we down south call a PARTY!!!
This year the epic event even sported a REDNECK WEDDING on Saturday,
complete with the Dreadknots member, Dave “The Kraken” Stone,
from the televised syndicated show, Axemen, who officiated the
wedding ceremony. The happily married couple, Josh and Brittany
Phillips, from Pooler, Georgia, had previously met at LACtober
Fest 2014
, 2 years before tying the knot this year. They met each
other through The LACS and only thought it fitting to have their
wedding among their redneck family of friends…how romantic!

The event hosted a variety of musical
acts performing on stage. Friday night, September 16th,
offering a lineup of such music from the amazing cover band,
BLACKFORD CREEK; a southern rock and country music band
to open the weekend’s festivities. The 4 member band consisting of
Dan Hall, Steven Stewart, Robert Mattingly, and Zack King kicked the
party off with I Walk The Line by Johnny Cash, Troubadour
by George Strait, and Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash. They are
currently working on the release of a new CD, so stay tuned and keep
your ears out for this incredible band and their music!

The foot stomping and cheering redneck
crowd welcomed SALAZAR back to the lineup again this year with
not a disappointed soul in sight! The SALAZAR NATION gathered
and rocked through the night with cover songs and originals from the
awesome band. You can find SALAZAR music
on
Reverbnation, and
they ar
e also in the studio producing a new CD, so keep
your ears out for them as well!

And to round or Friday night off, we
had CONFEDERATE RAILROAD graciously step in and offer to play
when an ailing DAVID ALLAN COE was sick and
unable to show. Although DAVID ALLAN COE was
unable to show due to health reasons, CONFEDERATE RAILROAD was
no disappointment as the fans gathered and went wild to party down
with the outlaw country music icons and round off the night’s epic
music event!

On Saturday, September 17th,
after a day of slinging mud and having fun with the entire family and
new found friends, the music opened with the joyful and exuberant,
TANYA & THE ROADRUNNERZ with cover songs ranging from
Patsy Cline and Heart, to AC/DC and many other
artists. This was the third year for the talented ROADRUNNERZ
family band to return after opening for such acts as; Love and
Theft
, Tracy Lawrence, Colt Ford, David Allan
Coe
, John Berry, and Johnny Lee.” With all family
members working to make ends meet, it’s kinda hard to do and record
the music you love to do”, says Tanya Williams, but they are
currently working to produce a CD with all original songs very soon,
so keep those ears open, still, especially for their new Merle
Tribute Song
!

Up next for the party goers enjoyment
came the musical score from the rated #1 Top Country Rock Band in
Canada called, DRY COUNTY! The four man band consisting of
Jeff Gallagher, Randy Soiski, Dan Laframbois, and Keith Silver
traveled 21 hours one way. They were incredible and rocked the crowd
with their Redneck Mafia logo and “AC/DC meets
Alabama” style of country rebel rock music! Their new CD,
COWBOY UP, is out in stores now, so get your copy today!

BIG ENGINE,
from Jacksonville, Florida was up next performing songs from their
recent album, SHOT LIKE A ROCKET. This band’s nitrous fueled
shows go hand in hand with fast cars and 4WD’s; it’s right up the
LACtember Fest
‘s mud bogging trailed fans alley! These guys have
shared the music stage with Buckcherry, Bret Michaels,
Vince Neil, Charlie Daniels, 38 Special, Ted
Nugent
, Motorhead, and Shooter Jennings bringing
high energy concerts to each of it’s crowds and die-hard fans at
venues such as Sturgis Bike Rally and NASCAR races.

Last but not least, came the hick-hop,
country-rap music sensation the whole crowd had been waiting for….
The LACS! The LACS recently joined forces with the band
members of HARD TARGET to produce and promote their new music
venture, RACKET COUNTY. The combined forces of such great
talent can be found on their new CD entitled WELCOME TO DODGE
CITY
. RACKET COUNTY ended the weekend by rocking us
through the night, and granted fans a special After-Party/Meet &
Greet
, hosted by The LACS.
So there you have it, one EPIC weekend
chocked full of fun, sun, mud, family, friends, music and adventure,
and what we southerners call LACtember Fest 2016! All bands
