Brandy Clark to Headline July 3 Entertainment
NASHVILLE –
GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Brandy Clark will
headline July 3 festivities in a run up to Nashville’s annual July 4
concert and fireworks show, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp
announced today.
In all, the city’s Independence Day festivities will include two
days, three stages and 15 live music acts – all free and open to the
public.
Nine-time GRAMMY-winner Sheryl Crow will headline on July 4 at the
Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City presented by Dr Pepper.
The
Sunday, July 3 festivities will kick off at 3 p.m. at the Music City
Stage located at The Green at Riverfront Park. Entertainment starts at
4 p.m. with DJ Du. Also on the bill are Shelly Colvin and Jason
Eskridge. A five-minute fireworks show will cap off the live music at 9 p.m. on July 3.
Activities
on Monday, July 4, will begin at noon with the McDonald’s® Family Fun
Zone and live music stage located on and around the Bridgestone
Arena Plaza, which will be open until 5 p.m. The Family Fun Zone Stage
will feature the General Jackson Showboat performers, Jamie Kent, Les
Kerr and The Bayou Band, and Scat Springs and Big Soul Band.

“Just
as the fireworks show has grown to epic proportions, so has the music
with the most live acts ever on three stages over two days,” said
Ken Levitan, board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors
Corp and co-president of Vector Management. “We can’t wait for everyone
to come out and enjoy the best July 4 in Nashville with family-friendly
activities, lots of great live music and one of
the country’s biggest fireworks displays.”
As
previously announced, Ruby Amanfu, Andrew Combs, Erin McCarley and
Maddie & Tae will join Crow on July 4 on the Jack Daniel’s Stage at
Ascend
Amphitheater and the Music City Stage at The Green at Riverfront Park.
DJ Coach will get the live entertainment started at 3 p.m. on the Jack
Daniel’s Stage and at 4:55 p.m. a brief program will kick off the live
music with a welcome from Mayor Megan Barry,
the National Anthem from Ruby Amanfu and a patriotic recitation from
Barry Scott.
Storme
Warren will serve as emcee on the Jack Daniel’s Stage, and Kelly Sutton
will host the Music City Stage. Crow will be joined by the Nashville
Symphony, which will be under the direction of Chris Norton, on the
Jack Daniel’s Stage at 9:20 p.m., and one of the country’s biggest
fireworks shows will take place from 9:35 p.m. to 10:05 p.m. Two
additional acts to perform on July 3 and July 4 are still
to be announced. All artists and times subject to change.
Video
screens will be placed at the old Riverfront Park so that spectators
there for the fireworks can enjoy the live music. Additional screens
will be placed on Broadway and at Walk of Fame Park and audio will be
available at Public Square Park.
