FIND NEW HOME BASE AT ATOMIC NASHVILLE
April 16 Grand Opening Celebrates Local And Statewide Culture At East Nashville Retailer And Venue
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 6, 2016) – Nashville’s
continuing ascension as a center for all the arts is reflected in the
opening of an outlet dedicated to showcasing the work of the city’s
painters, sculptors, musicians and authors.

On Saturday, April 16, from 10 AM to 7 PM, Atomic Nashville, located at 1603 Riverside Drive, 37216, welcomes
all members of the city’s creative community as well as those who
appreciate their contributions. This day-long celebration will feature
live music by local acts including The Black Lemons,
who bring a wide stylistic range to their high-energy performances.
Members of The Lemons have opened shows for The Who and Cheap Trick.
Additionally, visitors can watch Jeff Bertrand
at work on his latest painting. A leader in the “outsider/lowbrow”
movement of underground visionaries, Bertrand received a Scholastic
American Vision Award at age 17 and had his work exhibited at the
Corcoran Museum of Modern Art in Washington, D.C.

The opening festivities will also include a raffle to raise funds for the Crossroads Pets Shop and Adopt, with the winner receiving a free painting by Bertrand. And next door, The Pied Piper Eatery will join the party by offering a set of specials throughout the day, including an “Atomic Omelette.”

Dan and Kerry Balog moved to Nashville in 2009. “When we first visited
here, the energy and talent we encountered hit us like a bag of
bricks,” says Kerry, who had studied classical music and opera at
Baltimore’s prestigious Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
“I’ve seen my share of virtuosos, some of the greatest musicians on
Earth. But I’ve never seen anything like we’re seeing in Nashville.
The people here know their craft as well as anyone I’ve ever seen in
classical or jazz music.”

will stock new contemporary and classic books by authors throughout
America and beyond, graphic novels and an extensive collection of DVDs
by stand-up comics. Handerpants, underwear wallets, refrigerator magnets
and other collectible novelties are also available.

at least two events per month, one music-related and the other
author-related,” said Dan, a veteran musician, radio personality and
publicist whose clients included the visionary West Coast luthier
Stephen McSwain’s company, McSwain Guitars. “We’ve even had a few
comedians ask if they can come in and do stand-up.”
