Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Bash to be Biggest Ever with Seven Bands,
Two Stages, Music Note Drop and NYE’s Longest Fireworks Show
Mayor, Kelsea Ballerini to Raise Music Note to Kick Off More Than Six Hours of Live Music
NASHVILLE – The
Jack Daniel’s Bash on Broadway: New Year’s Eve in Music City
(#NashvilleNYE) on Dec. 31 is expected to be the largest in the event’s
seven-year history. This year’s celebration will feature seven bands,
two stages and Nashville’s longest fireworks show on New Year’s Eve. As
in past years, a Music Note drop at the stroke of midnight will usher
in 2016.
The
globally-acclaimed Kings Of Leon will headline the free concert. The
Nashville-based band will be joined by hot new CMA winner Chris
Stapleton,
CMA-nominated Kelsea Ballerini, Sugar & The Hi-Lows, The Whigs,
Wild Cub and LANco. Music will start at 6 p.m. and go past midnight.
Artists and times subject to change.
“This
stellar lineup showcases the diversity of music being created in
Nashville and will be one of the very best concerts taking place in the
country on New Year’s Eve,” said Ken Levitan, chairman of the Nashville
Convention & Visitors Corp and president of Vector Management. “By
adding a second stage, revelers will enjoy continuous music from the
time we raise the Music Note to when it drops six
hours later to rock in the New Year.”
New features this year include:
·
Seven bands: The most ever for Nashville’s New Year’s Eve concert.
·
Two stages:
The new Music City stage will be located on Broadway in between Fifth
Avenue and Sixth Avenue. It will face the Jack Daniel’s Stage, which
will continue to serve as the main stage at First and Broadway.
·
Tallest Music Note drop: The tower will be 145-feet tall, compared to 125 feet
last year.
·
More Confetti: Some 200 pounds of confetti will shower down on revelers at the
stroke of midnight – the most ever for New Year’s Eve.
·
Longest fireworks show: At the stroke of midnight, the fireworks show will be
the longest ever for a New Year’s Eve celebration in Nashville, lasting approximately five minutes.

The
event will kick off on the Music City Stage at 5:45 p.m. with a welcome
from Mayor Megan Barry. She will be joined by Ballerini and mascots
GNASH and T-RAC for the raising of the Music Note
and a burst of fireworks when it reaches the top. The Music Note tower
will be located on the Jack Daniel’s Stage. The music will start at 6
p.m., giving families plenty of time to enjoy the raising of the Music
Note and some music before the evening gets
too late.

Serving
as emcee on the Jack Daniel’s Stage will be Storme Warren, who has
emceed the New Year’s Eve event since its beginning in 2009. He will be
joined this year by Kelly Sutton, who will
take on emcee duties on the Music City Stage.
The
Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp is planning for 150,000 to
attend the concert, including music lovers from overseas drawn
especially
by a free show by the Kings Of Leon.
In
addition to all the free music on New Year’s Eve, Nashville will
celebrate the end of 2015 with several days of events and free
entertainment, including games from the Nashville Predators
and Tennessee Titans and several activities associated with the
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, including Battle of the
Bands, MusicFest and a pre-game concert on the Jack Daniel’s Stage.
