Country Artist Shatters Songwriting Stereotypes with Use of his Nose and Releases Debut Album
Country artist Shane Michael Taylor
has been writing songs since the day he taught himself to type with his
nose at the tender age of five. Now, after decades of overcoming the
daily challenges of living with severe cerebral palsy, Shane is
releasing his highly-anticipated debut album. This project entitled I Will Stand is available today at www.IWillStandAlbum.com
Shane
co-wrote all of the album’s 13 songs, which have been brought to life
with the help of top-notch Music City vocalists like MCA Nashville’s Clare Dunn and chart-topping pop icon Tiffany.
Complete
with upbeat honky-tonk tunes about a good night out (“Alcohol of
Fame”), inspirational songs about not overlooking life’s tiny miracles
(“Everyday Heroes”) and honest lyrics that celebrate traditional country
values and the importance of family (“We Get to Live It”), this album
is already garnering positive industry reviews.
“There are dozens and dozens of songwriters in Nashville but none with a story as inspiring as Shane Michael Taylor’s. I Will Stand is an incredible, beautiful accomplishment.”
M.B. Roberts, Senior Features Editor, Parade Magazine
Shane
has been defying odds his whole life. It was after earning bachelor’s
degrees in Music Business and Sound Engineering that he began making
many trips to Nashville from his
hometown of Waterbury, CT to co-write with prominent songwriters and develop material for I Will Stand
“I’m
so excited to finally share my songs and stories with the world,” says
Shane, who navigates the world in a wheelchair and struggles to
communicate verbally. “I hope I can inspire others to pursue their
dreams no matter what obstacles they may face.”
In
addition to his music career, Shane travels the country as a
motivational figure and has penned an inspirational audio book entitled Living This Rodeo, where he explains how learning to type with his nose changed his life and allowed him to build his career and live his dream.
