Nashville,
TN – Aug. 17, 2015 – The inaugural Delaware Junction, a three-day,
two-stage country music and camping festival, took place this past
weekend in Harrington, DE. A partnership between Live Nation, the
creators of mega country music festivals Watershed, Faster Horses, Route
91 Harvest, FarmBorough and Windy City LakeShake and Highway One, the
festival was lead by a monster lineup including country superstars Jason
Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Toby Keith, Lee Brice, Cole Swindell,
Thomas Rhett and more.
Festivities
kicked off Friday with attendees “enjoying near-perfect weather, tasty
food on the grill, ice-cold beverages, and of course, superstar country
artists such as Jason Aldean.” – Dover Post
By
Saturday the party was in full swing with “a youthful crowd on their
feet, foam parties and modern country stars wading into the crowd” as The News Journal declared
“the Delaware Junction Country Music Festival has already established
itself as one of the most fun-loving summertime bashes in the state” and
heralding “the Harrington return of headliner Toby Keith, who delivered
a hits-packed set” that closed out the night.
With
Florida Georgia Line closing down Sunday’s show with their energy
packed set, attendees also enjoyed the festivals’ fringe activities, as Delaware State News noted
“Delaware Junction wasn’t just about the music this year. Its
organizers also arranged foam parties, a beer garden, cornhole games,
rides, a giant slide and a water mister station for its first year in
operation.”
“The
vibe of Delaware Junction completely blew me away,” said Brian
O’Connell President of Country Touring at Live Nation. “The sense of
community was established immediately in the campgrounds on Thursday,
and every artist could feel the fans’ commitment from the stage.
Delaware Junction is not just another festival, the DJF fans have put
their stamp of approval on this event, and it’s time to get back to
work!
“The
feedback from the fans over this past weekend has been very encouraging
,” said Alex Pires of Highway One. “We prepared for this festival for
over a year, and our team’s hard work as has paid off. Now our job is to
come back in an even bigger way next year!”
