Charlie Daniels’ The Journey Home Project

Charlie
Daniels’ The Journey Home Project joins Tennessee’s Volunteer
Behavioral Health Care System to rally donors to fund veterans’
assistance programs

Nashville,
Tenn. (June 22, 2015) – Far too often veterans return home from service
with tolls of war too great to bear alone. The horrors of war in the
Middle East and other parts of the world have left some of our bravest
personnel with injuries that require intense rehabilitation and will
affect them for the rest of their lives, and others with deep
psychological scars that make it difficult to re-enter into civilian
life. In an effort to help, The Journey Home Project,
a non-profit co-founded by country music icon Charlie Daniels, is
striving to connect donors to veterans’ organizations that do the most
good.

Through public service announcements for Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System
(VBHCS), a non-profit, which serves 31 counties in Upper Cumberland,
Southeast and Middle Tennessee, Charlie Daniels and The Journey Home
Project are seeking donors throughout Middle Tennessee to assist
veterans in need. Sharing a common goal of helping veterans cope with
conditions like PTSD, substance abuse and co-occurring traumatic
disorders. The Journey Home Project and VBHCS hope they can better
spread the word to potential donors throughout the state with a passion
to giving back to those who have made sacrifices to protect our freedom.

The Journey Home Project was established in 2014 by Daniels, his
long-time manager, David Corlew, as well as Ed Hardy, Mercedez Longever
and Joe Longever, to seek out support for those organizations that have
proven to be the most valid and effective when it comes to meeting
veterans’ needs.

“Between Charlie and me, we have traveled abroad to so many military
bases to show support for our troops and it means so much to us
personally,” Corlew said. “Every time we do events or put fundraisers
together, people want to know where the money is going and how we can
help their situation. Through The Journey Home Project, we are able to
make decisions on where the money will go and how it can best help those
in need.”

Charlie Daniels’ 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam will take place on August 12, 2015.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to The Journey Home Project and
The Predators Foundation. Daniels will bring some of the music
industry’s most renowned performing artists including Ted Nugent, Trace
Adkins, Alabama, Montgomery Gentry, Tracy Lawrence, Lee Greenwood and
many others, to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to further fuel the cause
and honor military servicemen and women in attendance.

“These artists and friends of mine have all come together out of the
goodness of their hearts to put on a night of entertainment all for the
purpose of honoring our nation’s veterans,” says Daniels.

The concert is presented by Copperweld and produced by David Corlew
& Associates in association with Outback Concerts. WSM-AM and 95.5
FM Nash ICON serve as the official radio partners. Ticket prices start
at $17.68 with limited VIP packages still available at the Bridgestone Arena box office and Ticketmaster.com.
