Soak Up the Summer in Music City Nashville

An endless array of
music, food, arts, family fun, and outdoor activities
fills Nashville’s
playlist this summer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When the
weather heats up, so does the entertainment in Music City. Live
music, unique festivals and events, culinary excursions, family fun,
and new exhibits all combined with summer sunshine and the great
outdoors makes Nashville the perfect place to plan your summer
getaway.
Music City hits the high notes this
summer with the $2.5-million makeover of Walk
of Fame Park
re-opening June 4, the $14-million expansion and
renovation at the Ryman
Auditorium
opening June 9, and the debut of the 6,800-seat,
state-of-the-art Ascend
Amphitheater
on July 30 on The Green at Riverfront Park.
In conjunction with the re-opening of
Walk of Fame Park, a free and public Music
City Walk of Fame ceremony
will take place on June 4 inducting
Loretta Lynn and Jack White. The Music City Walk of Fame is a
landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have made
significant contribution to the music industry with connection to
Music City.
Four new exhibits
bringing the heat to Nashville this summer are Country
Music Hall of Fame’s Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New
Music City
(open
through December 31, 2016)
, which looks at the
Nashville music scene in the late 1960s and early 1970s when artists
such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Joan Baez, and Leonard
Cohen recorded in Nashville, the Musicians
Hall of Fame’s GRAMMY Gallery

(permanent
exhibit)
that will help children and adults alike
experience the process of making music through interactive stations,
the Frist
Center’s Italian Style: Fashion since 1945

(open
June 5-September 7, 2015)
chronicles the birth and
growth of the Italian fashion industry from post-World War II
recovery years to the present day, and in partnership with the Frist
where four sculptures will be on view, Cheekwood features Jaume
Plensa: Human Landscape
(May 22-November 1, 2015) with indoor
and outdoor installations from the internationally acclaimed Spanish
artist.
Music City hosts live music 24/7/365
and there’s plenty of FREE music throughout the summer. There’s
country music’s biggest party, CMA
Music Festival
, a rocking Let
Freedom Sing: July 4
th in Music City

with Martina McBride, Mikky Ekko, the Nashville Symphony, and one of
the top fireworks shows in the country, stellar concerts, and a
myriad of free music festivals. The return of the popular Musicians
Corner
offers free music in Centennial Park every Saturday
through June and the free concert series Live
on the Green
offers performances from local, regional, and
national artists at Public Square Park in August and September.
