Album with Unreleased Dylan Track to Follow in Summer
NASHVILLE, Tenn., – March 20, 2015 – The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum unveils Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City Presented by Citi,
a major exhibition of more than 5,000 square feet, on Friday, March 27,

The exhibit will be accompanied by a richly detailed, lavishly illustrated, 112-page companion book, also titled Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City.
Published by the museum’s Country Music Foundation Press and
distributed by Hal Leonard Corporation, the volume includes a foreword
by Rosanne Cash, an overview essay by guest curator Pete Finney and an
essay on the groundbreaking Johnny Cash Show by Cash expert
Michael Streissguth. Also included are dozens of archival photographs
and beautiful color images of many of the artifacts in the exhibit. The
book will be available in the Museum Store and at countrymusichalloffame.org.

The painting of Dylan and Cash by renowned artist and punk rocker
Jon Langford, commissioned for the exhibit, will serve as the book’s
cover. In addition, Langford has created exclusive artwork for the
inside cover. It features ’60s-era portraits of “Nashville Cats,”
including Charlie Daniels, Mac Gayden, Lloyd Green, Charlie McCoy,
Norbert Putnam, and more, in Langford’s characteristic style.

inside cover. It features ’60s-era portraits of “Nashville Cats,”
including Charlie Daniels, Mac Gayden, Lloyd Green, Charlie McCoy,

This summer, the museum’s CMF Records and Sony Legacy Recordings
will release an album of music from the era. The two-disc compilation
will include a previously unreleased version of Dylan’s “If Not for You”
featuring Nashville’s Lloyd Green on pedal steel guitar. The collection
will feature classic recordings such as Joan Baez’s “The Night They
Drove Old Dixie Down,” the Byrds’ “You Ain’t Going Nowhere,” J.J. Cale’s
“Crazy Mama,” Johnny Cash’s “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” Leonard Cohen’s “Bird
on a Wire,” Bob Dylan’s “Absolutely Sweet Marie,” Paul McCartney’s
“Sally G,” Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” Simon
& Garfunkel’s “The Boxer,” and Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold,” among
others. The record’s liner notes will include a personal reminiscence
from Tracy Nelson and song notes by Finney and Museum Editor Michael
Gray.
