Grand Ole Opry Star Jim Ed Brown celebrates win over cancer with releasing a brand new CD.
After
a four month absence from performing due to treatments, the legendary
singer has come back in style. Jim Ed Brown, the Grand Ole Opry star and
member for over 50 years, has kicked off his new beginning with
performances on the Opry and releasing a new CD titled “In Style Again”.
The
CD cover is showing a very relaxed Jim Ed sitting by a fine dining
table, inviting us to enjoy the musical treats with him. And any fan of
Jim Ed Brown and also The Browns, which Jim was a member of with his
sisters Maxine an Bonnie, with their monster hit “Three Bells”, will not
be disappointed. The album’s first song is a new song with traditional
The Brown’s sisters harmonies and the entire CD has an updated sound in a
very recognizable and smooth Jim Ed Brown style.
Besides
The Brown’s Bonnie as guest harmony vocalist, Vince Gill is singing on
the four-four shuffle “Tried And True”, The Whites sisters Cheryl and
Sharon on “You Again” and Mr. Brown’s duet partner Helen Cornelius is
joining him on the classic “Don’t Let Me Cross Over”.
In January of this year Jim Ed Brown was declared free from lung cancer of which he had been diagnosed in early October 2014.
