DAVID SHELBY TO RELEASE RUST BELT RENDITION OF
“AULD LANG SYNE” JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Shelby-fied Seasonal Single Available
For FREE Download December 26, 2014
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 16, 2014)—Just in time for the holidays, country recording artist David Shelby (Highway South Records, Detroit MI), will introduce his own twist on the classic “Auld Lang Syne.”  In
true David Shelby character, music enthusiasts can anticipate a “new
ring” to the traditional classic—filled with unexpected tempo and
instrumental “surprises” throughout the track.
“We thought we’d spice-up the production with a little rock ‘n roll kick, and I broke out the horn,” introduced David Shelby who is proficient on a number of instruments including the trumpet.  “Sometimes,
when people sing this song, it seems melancholy—almost blue; I wanted
to add my fun-loving personality in a more excitable composition and I
think we accomplished that.”
Shelby recorded his version of “Auld Lang Syne” in Nashville alongside producer Russ Zavitson who is also the co-producer of his new EP entitled OH YEAH.  The seasonal single will be available for FREE DOWNLOAD via his web page (davidshelbymusic.com) and artist Facebook page (www.facebook.com/davidshelbymusic) beginning Friday, December 26, 2014.
Infusing
Detroit’s rock n’ roll roots with the traditional Nashville country
vibe, Shelby identifies his music as “Rust Belt Country.” He recently
released his six-track EP
(OH YEAH) in November. His single, by the same name, is
quickly gaining traction in the country music genre.  Detroit’s 99.5
WYCD (Michigan) featured “Oh Yeah” in its “Country Showdown.”
Shelby’s tune ran up against recordings by The Doobie Brothers
(featuring Zac Brown), Olivia Lane and Little Big Town to remain a
three-time winning contender to appear in the WYCK Showdown Hall of Fame
giving way Dierks Bentley’s “Say You Do” in the final round.
A
well-rounded musician and instrumentalist, David’s music reflects his
appreciation for Nashville and country music, the progression of rock n’
roll, while keeping true to his “Motor City” roots.  His most recent
recording project, OH YEAH (produced, mastered, and
engineered by Teddy Gentry and Charles English of Music Brothers
Productions, Russ Zavitson and Brian Foraker), seamlessly combines the
cultures while remaining true to his unique style. OH YEAH is available via all major digital retail outlets.
