2014 AWARD NOMINEES MONDAY, MAY 12
 
LIVE BROADCAST EVENT ON SIRIUSXM OUTLAW COUNTRY AND STREAMED VIA MUSIC CITY ROOTS

(Nashville, Tenn.)  May 5, 2013 – The Americana Music Association will
announce the nominees for the 2014 Americana Honors & Awards
ceremony on Monday, May 12th at 2PM ET/11AM PT.  The ceremony will be
broadcast live from the SiriusXM Music City Theatre in downtown
Nashville.
 
This special one-hour program will be hosted by Elizabeth Cook with Americana stalwarts Jim Lauderdale (Honors & Awards host) and Buddy Miller (Honors & Awards band leader) and will feature performances from some of the rising stars of the genre including Hurray For The Riff Raff and Parker Millsap.
 
The winners of each category will be announced during the Americana
Honors and Awards show on September 17, 2014 at the historic Ryman
Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The celebrated program is the capstone
event of the Americana Music Festival and Conference, which runs from
September 17-21, 2014.  The program will be co-produced by High Five
Entertainment and a version titled ACL Presents: Americana Music
Festival 2014 will again be broadcast on PBS in the Austin City Limits time slot later this fall.  
 
Each year, the Americana Music Association honors distinguished
members of the music community with six member voted annual awards and
with Lifetime Achievement Awards, which will be announced leading up to
the event.  
 
Described by Emmylou Harris as “the shining star of Nashville and
music everywhere,” the Americana Honors and Awards show has been
broadcast on AXS TV, PBS, and via SiriusXM Radio, BBC2, WSM, Voice of
America and npr.org.  The show has featured many amazing moments in
musical history including Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash’s last live
performance together, as well as show-stopping appearances by Bonnie
Raitt, Gregg Allman, The Avett Brothers, Solomon Burke, Rosanne Cash,
Civil Wars, Dr. John with Dan Auerbach, Patty Griffin, Levon Helm,
Robert Plant and many more.
