Jeff & Sheri Easter bring home two awards

Jeff & Sheri Easter recently won two Absolutely Gospel Awards.
The couple received the Fan Favorite Artist Award at the ceremonies held Tuesday,
April 15, 2014 at the River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tenn.
“Jeff and I were so honored,” Sheri said. “We love what we do and
we love people, so to win a Fan Favorite Artist category voted on by the fans,
is incredible!”
The second accolade was jointly won by Jeff and his father James Easter
as they took home the award for Special Event Project.
“Sheri and I are so proud of our heritage and in the past few
years, we’ve tried to honor our parents with several special projects,” Jeff
said. “‘Like Father, Like Son’ is really my way of getting to sing songs
that I’ve loved for years and to be able to do so with my Dad.

“He’s 82 now and singing better than ever,” he said. “Sheri wrote the
title song and everyone is loving it!”

On the heels of the awards the couple are gearing up for the Jeff
& Sheri Easter 6th Annual Homecoming.
“We’re so excited to be bringing in Bill Gaither, Mark Lowry, The
Hoppers, Ivan Parker and The Primitives for this year’s event,” Sheri said.
“Our goal when we began was to introduce our hometown to some of the best in
southern gospel music and these artists definitely exceed that goal.”

The homecoming is at the Lewis Family Homeplace, 1935 Lewis
Family Road, in Lincolnton, Ga. and is Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10.

The event features two-time Grammy nominees and six-time
Dove winners Jeff & Sheri Easter with: Bill Gaither, Mark Lowry and Little
Roy Lewis and Lizzy Long Show on Thursday at 7 p.m.; The Hoppers and Lewis
Tradition on Friday at 7 p.m.; and the Primitive Quartet and Ivan Parker on
Saturday at 6 p.m.

Adult admission is $20 and an additional love offering will
be received. Children 12 and under free. Attendees should bring a lawn chair.
Concessions will be available for sale.
“New
for the park this year, we have a barn for shelter,  so we can have the
concert rain or shine,” Sheri said. “We have also added new memorabilia
for guests to see in the museum.”
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Lewis
Family Homeplace Restoration Fund honoring the career of Georgia’s three-time
Hall of Fame members The Lewis Family. There will also be a talent contest on
Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. with registration on line.  James Easter will host a free Sunday morning
service at 11 a.m.
