SAM RIGGS & THE NIGHT PEOPLE
SCORE #1 HIT ON CMT PURE WITH NEW VIDEO “WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT

DEBUT RECORD HITS THE STREETS OCTOBER 29TH

Nashville, TN-September 4, 2013-Well in advance of their debut record release Outrun The Sun on October 29th,
Sam Riggs & The Night People have exploded into the country music
spotlight with a #1 hit music video on CMT Pure 12-Pack.  Solely judged
by fan voters, the record’s first single “When The Lights Go Out” is the
kind of monster debut that launches significant careers. By the very
definition of master storytelling, the video takes you on the proverbial
“ride” from the second it starts and leaves you with the kind of white
knuckle ending that is perpetually buzzed about between music fans.  For
a very lucky few the long awaited new record release will be up for
grabs in a “win it before you can buy it” three tier special promotion
via the band’s website and social media pages.  The Viral Sweepstakes, the Instagram Sweepstakes and the Video Contest will offer fans elite merchandise packages that include free advance downloads of Outrun The Sun,
autographed CD’s, autographed merchandise, free tickets to live
concerts and autographed acoustic guitars wrapped in the album artwork.
The contest rules and guidelines and submission dates will be posted on
the band’s website and social media pages in the coming weeks so fans
are urged to keep their fingers on Sam’s pulse by regularly checking in
at www.SamRiggsMusic.com and www.facebook.com/SamRiggsAndTheNightPeople.

Sam Riggs wears a legacy of honest country, makes good
rock, writes lyrics that matter and straps on a stage presence second to
none.
  -Ray Wylie Hubbard

Receiving a hand up in this business of music from the likes of Ray
Wylie Hubbard is no small accomplishment, and that mentorship – and
sometimes harsh instruction – was not lost on Sam Riggs, Through the
songwriting school of Hubbard, he learned the time-honored virtue of
patience and the aptitude for turning the rough and tumble falls to the
ground into a steady, recovered gait.  He opened my eyes
to songwriting, and I could see the idiot I had been and the idiot I was
going to be, and he helped me to navigate that
.  He taught me what it really is to be a songwriter.”  Following the release of the 2012 EP, Lighthouse, Outrun The Sun
on Nashville-based Vision Entertainment is a perfectly ripened delicacy
produced by Erik Herbst (Eli Young Band, Bowling For Soup, Josh Abbott
Band) and signals a lyrical comprehension that reaches far beyond Sam’s
years, and musical compositions that are both brave and progressive.
The record is fully backed by a live show that comes out swinging and
keeps the energy high.

Having opened for acts that include Chris Knight; Joe Diffie; Kevin
Fowler; Pat Green; the Eli Young Band; the Randy Rogers Band; and, of
course, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Sam Riggs & The Night People have become
well-educated in the art of working a crowd.  Riggs himself never fails
to dazzle with his “musical chair” performances that never restrict him
to one location on the stage.  The band recently returned from Country
Rendez-Vous, the longest running French country music festival in
Crappone, France where the guys gave a dynamic performance to a crowd of
8,000 fans and had one of the longest autograph lines of any artist
that performed at the event lasting over an hour.

Sam Riggs & The Night People is very honored to be a part of the Feed Your Soul
auction benefitting the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.  All proceeds go
directly to the organization so please visit the auction Facebook page
at Feed Your Soul Auction to place bids on unique
keepsakes from artist that include Uncle Lucius, Pat Green, Randy
