“To know where you are going, you have to know where you’ve been…”

Nashville, TN – (April 2, 2013) – Republic Nashville sibling trio The Band Perry gave a special performance in their hometown of Greeneville, TN, debuting new music from their sophomore album, PIONEER.
An estimated crowd of 25,000 took to the streets of the small mountain
town to see the famous residents and a chance meeting in the autograph
line that stretched over a quarter of a mile down Main Street.  Their
new CD, PIONEER, which releases today, has already hit #1 on the iTunes Country chart!

The history-making crowd boasted a large number of out of town
visitors, in addition to members of Greeneville’s 17,000 residents, who
made their way to see “their” band. With an invitation posted via social
media earlier that week asking if fans were attending and from where,
responses came in from all over the United States, including
Florida, Iowa, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas, among others.  Fans even
reported that they were making the trip from Canada!

The event, which was presented by the Greene County Partnership and
sponsored by General Mills and Outnumber Hunger is believed to be
the largest in recorded history in the East Tennessee town.  The Band
Perry is among the pioneers putting this quaint town on the map and they
were aptly recognized with a Proclamation honoring them, signed by
Governor Bill Haslam and presented by State Representative David Hawk.

The Band Perry performs for a history-making crowd in their hometown of Greeneville, TN.

“We are so humbled by the show of support
from our hometown, as well as our fans that traveled so many miles –
and our neighbors just down the street – to see the show! We had a great
time signing CDs for everyone who braved the crisp night air waiting to
meet us and say hello. And to have Governor Haslam recognize us as we
came home, what an incredible honor,” says Neil Perry.

“To have so many people come out and
celebrate with us in Greeneville is just amazing. Our hometown has given
us a lot and we wanted to do something to give back. I think everybody
had a good time, I know that we sure did,” says Reid Perry.

“To know where you are going, you have to
know where you’ve been.  We love small towns and embrace the nurturing
they provide.  We will be the first to tell you that great things come
from humble beginnings.  You don’t have to think small just because you
are from a small town and we want everyone to know that.  We had a great
time performing for our friends in Greeneville this past weekend,” says
Kimberly Perry.
