The Time Jumpers Nominated!
Supergroup Adds Two More Grammy Nods To Their List

NASHVILLE – December 6, 2012 – The Grammy nominations have been announced and Rounder recording act The Time Jumpers has been awarded two —  Best Country Album for The Time Jumpers, and Best Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group–Country for “On The Outskirts Of Town.”  This is the third and fourth nomination for the supergroup whose first two nominations came in 2007 for tracks from their live Jumpin’ Time album.  Click on this link to see the video for “On The Outskirts Of Town.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_NhSy9aJY8

“I couldn’t be happier for my fellow bandmembers,” said Vince Gill, who joined the band three years ago. “It’s a really sweet validation for some amazing musicians and amazing singers.”

The Time Jumpers includes 11 members, each a master of his (and, in one case, her)
instrument.  They are Vince Gill (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars),   Dennis Crouch (upright bass), Larry Franklin (fiddle), Paul Franklin (steel guitar), “Ranger Doug” Green (vocals, acoustic rhythm guitar), Andy Reiss (electric guitar), Dawn Sears (vocals), Kenny Sears (vocals, fiddle), Joe Spivey (fiddle, vocals) Jeff Taylor (accordion, piano) and Billy Thomas (drums, vocals).  (Individual bios available at www.thetimejumpers.com.)

Kenny Sears, the group’s band leader added, “When we made this album the only thing we were thinking about was to make it as good as we could musically, and I feel like we did that.  But to get two Grammy nominations and top 10 on the Americana charts, well we’re excited beyond belief.  We weren’t aiming for chart numbers or nominations, so to get those is more icing on the cake than we ever dreamed of.”

The Time Jumpers was established in Nashville in 1998 by an assemblage of high-dollar studio musicians who wanted to spend some spare time drinking beer and jamming with their sonically gifted buddies.  Since then the band has built a huge following that travels from around the world to see them every Monday night in Nashville, originally at The Station Inn and now at 3rd & Lindsley.

The group will be touring in 2013.  Here are some of their upcoming tour dates:

2/7   The Hamilton – Washington DC

2/8   Sandler Center for the Performing Arts – Virginia Beach, VA

2/9   Emporia-Greensville Performing Arts Center – Emporia, VA
