Carrie Underwood is 4 for 4 as Blown Away Becomes Her 4th Consecutive Country Album Win at The American Music Awards

Carrie Underwood debuted her new single, “Two Black Cadillacs,”
last night on The 40th Anniversary American Music Awards with a
spectacular performance. The song, written by Underwood, Josh Kear and
Hillary Lindsey, is the third single off her critically acclaimed album
Blown Away, which garnered a win as “Favorite Country Album.” This win
marks the fourth consecutive time an Underwood album has taken home the
top album prize at the American Music Awards. Now a seven-time AMA
winner, Underwood has been the fans’ choice in the country album
category on every album she’s released, also claiming the “Favorite
Country Album” honor for her debut Some Hearts in 2007, Carnival Ride in
2008, and Play On in 2010.

This week, Carrie will head back out on her highly praised “Blown
Away Tour” with shows in St. Louis, Tulsa, Indianapolis and Detroit with
a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday between dates. The arena
tour’s first leg will wrap on December 22 and, as recently announced,
will continue well into 2013, with 8 new shows selling out over the
weekend. A $1 donation from each ticket sold on the North American dates
of “The Blown Away Tour” will be given to Red Cross disaster relief.

Blown Away made history this spring by debuting at No. 1 on
Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, making Carrie only the second
country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of their
first four albums debut at No. 1. Blown Away also debuted at No. 1 on
the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, making Carrie only the second country
artist in history to have three consecutive albums debut at No. 1.
Blown Away became country’s best-selling digital album debut since 2010.
In addition to reaching No. 1 on the country airplay charts, “Good
Girl” and title-track, “Blown Away,” have both been certified Platinum
for selling more than 1 million digital downloads. The videos for both
songs also reached No.1 on CMT’s Top 20 with “Good Girl” spending a
record setting 14 weeks at No. 1.

Since releasing her debut, Some Hearts, in 2005, Carrie has sold more
than 15 million albums with Some Hearts, 2007’s Carnival Ride, and
2009’s Play On making her the best-selling American Idol in the U.S.
She’s accumulated 16 No. 1 singles, seven of which she co-wrote, and
became the first country artist in history and the only American Idol
winner ever to achieve 10 No. 1 singles from their first two albums.
She is a five-time Grammy winner, a two-time Academy of Country Music
Entertainer of the Year, a three-time Country Music Association and ACM
Female Vocalist winner, and a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry.
