Jonesborough Bluegrass Series Presents Award-Winning Night of Music
with Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, The Boxcars, Lorraine Jordan
& Carolina Road
October 3, 2012 (Jonesborough, TN) — The Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series will present an award-winning night of music with Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, The Boxcars and Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road on Saturday, October 20th. Produced by Mountain Music Entertainment
and nestled in Tennessee’s oldest town, the Historic Jonesborough
Bluegrass Series was recently awarded the NETTA Pinnacle Award.
Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice
are at the top of their game with the recent honor of two of the
premier awards given by the International Bluegrass Music Association; Song of the Year for “A Far Cry From Lester And Earl” and Album of the Year for The Heart Of A Song.
The awards were recently held at the historic Ryman Auditorium and were
accepted by a very excited band who were treated to a standing ovation
by a sold-out audience of their peers. The band has been touring across
the country in promotion of their latest project on Rebel Records and
have been performing to enthusiastic, sold-out audiences far and wide.
“We record our music hopeing that our fans will find something about it
they like and it never really occurs to us that we might win an award
for it,” stated Sisk. “Winning these two awards is something that I
never even dreamed of, but also something I couldn’t be more proud of.”
The Boxcars were also big winners at the recent IBMA Awards taking home the Instrumental Group of the Year award. In addition, the band celebrated Adam Steffey’s win of Mandolin Player of the Year,
making him the 9-time winner of the prestigious award. Though The
Boxcars are relatively new to the bluegrass scene—the band formed at the
end of 2009—the members of this group have a very well respected
history in bluegrass and gospel music, having worked in some of music’s
most popular bands including J.D. Crowe and the New South, The Isaacs
and Alison Krauss and Union Station.
The evening will be rounded out by Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road who have been celebrating the recent success of their latest CD, Back To My Roots, which is topping charts worldwide and is the #1 CD on the National Bluegrass Survey this month. This veteran group has
earned a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in bluegrass,
averaging 60 bluegrass festivals in the U.S. and Canada annually along
with headlining the Bluegrass Cruise and hosting the Canadian Bluegrass
Awards. Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road’s performance is a hard
driving traditional sound with invigorating instrumentals, smooth
blending vocals, and all the energy that you can stand.
The  Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series concert will take place on October 20th at 7:00pm
at the Jonesborough Visitors Center located at 117 Boone Street,
Jonesborough, Tennessee. Tickets are $20/adults, $10/ETSU students with
ID and children 12 and under, and may be purchased at the door the night
of the show, online at www.jonesboroughtn.org or by calling 866-401-4223. In addition to Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, The Boxcars and Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, The Moore Brothers will also perform. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities located on the campus of Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.
