NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 14, 2012) – International
touring band Mustang Sally has wrapped up a summer of playing to
standing-room-only audiences in the Lake Erie resort town of Put-In-Bay,
Ohio, while also criss-crossing the United States for a number of
unique events, including Ohio Bike Week, Carolina Mountain Ribfest,
Easyriders Rodeos, Pennsboro Motor Speedway, Arkansas State HOG Rally
and wedding for avid fans from Georgia.
The
band, known for its high energy show, kicked off its summer schedule
with a debut concert at CMA Music Festival, where the musicians
performed to more than 1,000 fans at the BIC Soleil Beach Stage.
Immediately following the Mustang Sally Fan Club Party at Nashville’s
Yazoo Brewery, the band members headed to Put-In-Bay, Ohio, where they
played a string of dates throughout the summer at the 4,000-seat Tobi, Mandy and Jax croppedBeer Barrel Saloon.
When
Mustang Sally wasn’t rockin’ vacationners in Put-In-Bay, the band was
playing at summer festivals, including Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky, Ohio,
Easyriders Rodeos in Wilson, N.C., and Chillicothee, Ohio, and ending
the season at the Hot Springs Motorcycle Rally in Hot Springs, Ark.
The
members of Mustang Sally typically are the ones taking the stage by
storm, but the storm got the upper hand when the band was on the
schedule to play at the Freedom Days Picnic in Celina, Ohio. During the
afternoon soundcheck, a storm with winds estimated up to 80 mph blew
through, ripping apart the stage and sending Mandy Holbert, bass player, and Bill Strange, who is in charge of the band’s transportation, to the hospital. Thankfully, the injuries were minor. The band returns to Celina October 6 to perform at The Overdrive.
Mustang
Sally also made a special guest appearance at the wedding of fans
Richard and Valerie Hejda, who changed their wedding date to accomodate
the band’s busy touring schedule. The band performed at the
couple’s August wedding in Georgia.
“It has been a great year and it’s hard to put into words how truly blessed we are to get to make music,” says
Tobi Lee, lead singer. “Through all the sleepless nights on the bumpy
roads across this country, once you get on stage and see familiar faces
and meet new ones…It is worth it! The support from the folks across
this country that come to all our shows is the reason we get to do it!
So I thank You! We’re in this together so I look forward to the future
that we all can share through music!”
