Nashville, TN (August 16, 2012)  Rural
Rhythm Records is very proud to announce a total of 18 International
Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards Nominations.  The nominations
were announced yesterday during a press conference held at the Loveless
Barn in Nashville, TN.  Winners will be announced during the IBMA Awards
Show held at the legendary Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, September 27,
2012.
 
Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out received a total of 7 Nominations includinng:  Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year (Pretty Little Girl From Galax), Album of the Year (PRIME TYME), Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year (Carroll County Blues), and Mandolin Player of the Year (Wayne Benson).  Four-time IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year award winner Russell Moore was again nominated in that category.
 
LIFE GOES ON by the Musicians Against Childhood Cancer garnered a total of 5 nominations with the song “Beyond the Sunset” with Doyle Lawson, Russell Moore, Jamie Dailey & Josh Swift picking up two Nominations – Gospel Recorded Event of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year. Manzanita by Tony Rice, Josh Williams, Aaron Ramsey, Aubrey Haynie & Rob Ickes received a nod for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year.  The title track, “Life Goes On” by Carl
Jackson, Ronnie Bowman, Larry Cordle, Jerry Salley, Rickey Wasson,
Randy Kohrs, D.A. Adkins, Garnet Bowman, Lynn Butler, Ashley Kohrs, Gary
Payne, Dale Pyatt, Clay Hess, Alan Bibey, Jay Weaver, Ron Stewart, Jim
VanCleve
also received a nomination for Recorded Event of the Year with yet one more, “Old Violin” by Larry Cordle & Michael Cleveland making that 3 songs from the album in the Recorded Event of the Year category. 
 
Fan favorite LONESOME RIVER BAND nabbed several nominations including 4-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year Award winner Sammy Shelor receiving another nomination in that category.  The group received a nomination for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year for the song “Angeline the Baker” from their CHRONOLOGY, VOLUME ONE album.  VOLUME TWO has also been released, with the highly anticiapted VOLUME THREE releasing next month.  The series celebrates LONESOME RIVER BAND’s 30th anniversary as one of the most beloved bluegrass bands.
 
Also receiving an IBMA nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year is Audie Blaylock whose
incredible vocal talents have earned him his first nomination in this
category.  With his highly respected band, REDLINE, the group has
garnered numerous #1 albums and songs from their recent Rural Rhythm
album releases.  Their most current album, HARD COUNTRY, is receiving critical acclaim from both media and radio alike. 
Congratulations to Jesse Brock for his Mandolin Player of the
Year nomination.
 
The Darrell Webb Band received a Nomination as EMERGING ARTIST OF THE YEAR.  The band has a brand new album, BREAKING DOWN THE BARRIERS that will no doubt please their fans and radio as well. 
 
The talented Randy Kohrs received a nomination for Dobro Player of the Year.  Kohrs has two releases on the label including QUICKSAND and the previouslly released OLD PHOTOGRAPH.
