JETT WILLIAMS SPECIAL GUEST AT R.O.P.E.

JETT WILLIAMS SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE
MEMBERS WITNESSED HISTORY ON STAGE

(Nashville, TN)  Jett Williams made a special guest appearance at the December 4th R.O.P.E. Dinner at John A’s Restaurant.  This was not just a special appearance, it was a lesson in the history of country music.  Jett gave a great account of her birth, her Dad Hank Williams Sr. legacy, and her continued success in her own career which includes a plate filled with more projects to keep her busy for months to come, with her book, movie, several projects that she discussed with me that will be released to the public shortly.  She sounded awesome, and she has changed her show in some way-not sure of exactly how, all I know is that she was fabulous this past Sunday, and all in attendance let her know with a standing ovation at the end of her performance, and I add, well-deserved.
Jett made this R.O.P.E. as special event, and we thank her for taking time out of her busy schedule to join us for a super performance.  Also, thanks to her hubby Keith for also being with us.  Keith has been not feeling well with the flu bug, but he was by Jett’s side as he always is, supporting all that she does.  R.O.P.E. is proud to have Jett & Keith as members of our organization, and we were fortunate to have one of the greatest names in country music give of her time to perform what is missing in our industry-real traditional country music.  Her show was filled with Hank Williams music, Christmas Music, Patriotic Music, and a great song that she had just written (Jett William’s Music), which I think that she performed first for our R.O.P.E. audience.  Her bloodline is of thoroughbred status and she showed the reason why she so successfully carries on the Williams’ name.  And now the legacy continues with Jett presenting the music that she has written.  I would say that writing is “in her blood.”
During Jett’s performance, she asked Uncle Ron Elliott to play an instrumental version of “America” which he did to a standing ovation.  Congrats to Ron on an awesome job.  Jett Williams the entertainer gave testimony to what country music is and should be by sharing stories that many in attendance never knew.  What a great day it was thanks for all.
Some of the names who were in attendance were Hall of Fame Steel Guitarist’s Billy Robinson, Ron Elliott, Stu Basore, singer/songwriter George Riddle,  great to see Bobby Lewis with us, Johnny Moore, Jeannie C. Riley, Casey Anderson (Liz Anderson’s husband), Brandi Nicole, Shar, Julie Richardson, and the many R.O.P.E. members who were in attendance.  For those I may have missed please accept my apologies for having memory loss????
I had an opportunity to talk with Casey Anderson.  We spoke of his great loss of his wife, Liz Anderson, and that he was glad that he attended our dinner.  Casey talked about his daughter Lynn and that they are going to be working on some projects together, and I think that is great.  It would be nice to see Lynn join us at one of our R.O.P.E. Dinners to entertain our members.
A special thank you to Thomas Sellers, manager of John A’s, and his super staff for their great service as always, and if you have not been to John A’s, the next time your in town, or if you live here in the Nashville area, please take an evening to go to John A’s for one of the great restaurants in our city, super entertainment, no smoking, and the atmosphere and ambiance will continue to bring you back to this great venue.  John A’s is located on Music Valley Drive adjacent to the Radisson.
Another special thank you to Leslie Elliott our Exec. Director of R.O.P.E. for the super job she continues to do for our organization.  Thank you to all of our Board of Directors in attendance also.
I want to extend congratulations to our R.O.P.E. Band who were as awesome as always with Willie Rainsford-piano, Billy Johnson-guitar, David Russell-Fiddle, Ron Elliott-steel guitar, Dena Johnson-drums, and Larry Barnes-Base.  What a super group of musicians.  On this day with Jett they were really super awesome.  I know them personally, and I have always known how great they all are, but Sunday they played special, and I am sure that Jett Williams had something to do with their playing.
I want to thank one of the friends that R.O.P.E. who just happens to be our exclusive photographer, Jerry Overcast, for a job that we are indebted to him for doing.  He has been one of our great staunch supporters, and his pictures as you will see in the coming days are as good as they get.  We are so very lucky to have him as a friend and a professional who believes in what we are doing as members of our organization.  Thanks Jerry for your great work and dedication to R.O.P.E.  He is one of the elite photographers in our industry, so if you are in need for professional photo’s, let us know and we will make sure that you get contact info.
I hope that if you have not become a member of R.O.P.E. (Reunion of Professional Entertainers) that you will consider joining with us.  I can assure you that you will not regret being a part of what we do to keep traditional country music alive and well.  If you are interested please let me know and we will be more than happy to send you an application and info letting you know who we are and what we do.  We are not retired old people, we are lovers and supporters of our great “country music” and we share fellowship, friendship, camaraderie, an opportunity to meet new friends, see old friends, all with great food and entertainment.  We are excited about all of our new members, especially our younger members as we move forward to another great new year in 2012.
AGAIN, THANK YOU TO JETT WILLIAMS FOR SHARING HER MUSIC WITH US AND FOR HER INSPIRING PERFORMANCE.
Thank you for reading and we hope you will make it a point to join R.O.P.E. in 2012.  On behalf of myself, our Board of Directors, we wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Most Prosperous New Year.
