Lamitschka:  Music has many new fans throughout Europe who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who has never seen or heard you?

Myrycle Mahn: Extremely diverse. Full of quality, inspiration and true artist creativity.

Lamitschka:  How was the last year for you? What were your highlights?

Myrycle Mahn: The last year has been great. I graduated from The Los Angeles Recording School as a Certified Recording Engineer. I also had a chance to work on a project with a award-winning twelve-time platinum producer Keith Clizark. He’s produced for Def Jam Records and Dr. Dre just to name a few. My highlights in the past year have been the creation of my publishing company; Pen And Pad Writings and the release of my debut album “Dufflebag Dreams“. Which is currently available on iTunes (iTunes Store), Amazon MP3, Fox Music and other Digital Music Distribution Sites.

Lamitschka:  What is your latest CD and how’s it doing?

Myrycle Mahn: My current release “Dufflebag Dreams“ is doing well. The radio singles “Daimoku Glow“ and “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“ are receiving substantial airplay.

Lamitschka:  How did you choose the title for the CD?  Is there a story behind the name?

Myrycle Mahn: The title of my current release; “Dufflebag Dreams“ has an interesting story. I’m originally from Cleveland, OH and when I relocated to Los Angeles, CA I came with laptop computer, an electric Stratocaster guitar and a duffle bag with some clothes. I was also homeless for three months when I first relocated. So therfore I started my career with a duffle bag full of dreams and now my dream is a reality.

Lamitschka:  Do you write the songs yourself? If not, how do you go about finding the songs for your CD?

Myrycle Mahn: Yes, I write all the songs myself. I compose the music, play the instruments, record, master and publish my own music.

Lamitschka:  Please tell us about the songs on your album (influences, etc).

Myrycle Mahn: My album’s full of diversification. The song “Daimoku Glow“ is rock and roll. The song “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“ is country. The song “Strawberry Mind“ is pop/r&b. So my album exercises different music genres. My influences are Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Sade, Miles Davis and Michael Jackson.

Lamitschka:  Your current single is being played by radio. What do you feel is special about this song that makes people want to hear it?

Myrycle Mahn:  The current single “Daimoku Glow“ is very special to me. After I recorded the song, that night on Saturday January 26,2008. I got robbed on my way home coming from the studio. The robbers just took my wallet and money; they left me with my guitar and recording material. It was that night that I realized I was made for music.

Lamitschka:  What will your next single be?

Myrycle Mahn: “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“, it’s a country song. It’s currently receiving airplay also.

Lamitschka:  What kind of songs do you like to record the most?

Myrycle Mahn: Rock and Roll, Instrumental, Soul and Hip-Hop

Lamitschka:  What is your favorite song among all the songs you have recorded and what’s the story behind it?

Myrycle Mahn: The country song; “The Tale Of Conner And Racine“. I wrote the lyrics when I was living in Cleveland, OH and recorded it in Los Angeles, CA. I was living in a rooming house with eleven other people so the song is about one of my roommates and his girlfriend at the time in my hometown of Cleveland, OH.

Lamitschka:  Who inspires you musically and how deep do your musical roots run?

Myrycle Mahn: Everyone. I really love listening to music from the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s.

Lamitschka:  Are you doing anything to take music beyond its current borders or are you happy where it is?

Myrycle Mahn: I’m just trying to be the best artist and person that I can be. Hopefully being the best that I can be will inspire the best in all of us and we can take music to the next level.

Lamitschka:  What inspired you to become an artist?

Myrycle Mahn: It’s something that I was born with. It’s always been a natural feeling.

Lamitschka:  What’s unique about you that will differentiate you from other artists?
